I thought it might be fun to post some HOLIDAY Recipes to share
with a little twist - Make the Title of your recipe Disney Related.

I will try to start it off:

"Mickey's Hidden Surprise Salsa Dip"

Need:

Large Platter
Block of Neufenchel Cheese (Cream Cheese Block is ok too)
Jar Of Salsa (You Pick The Type Mild, Hot or Supreme)
Tortilla Chips (Bite Size Are Best)

On a large platter put the block of cheese in the middle of the
platter. Pour the jar of salsa right over the top of it. Then spread
the tortilla chips all around.

Thats It. Hope you try it. It really is great, simple and easy!!

Enjoy

Dana :)

We heard from another post an idea to add
to our recipe.

They suggested: Mango Chutney over the block of cream cheese with
ritz crackers which sounded awesome!!

Have a great day!!!

EDIBLE CHOCOLATE BOWLS...

Chocolate bowls!!!!!!
I make these "chocolate bowls" all the time.
I like to serve pudding in them or fresh fruit with whipped cream, they make a really nice presentation and are easy to make.

here is what i do:
Chocolate cups:
6 small round or oval helium quality balloons
7 bars (1.5 oz.each) hershey bars or godiva choc, coarsely chopped ( i also make some white choc bowls to make it look even nicer on the table.)
2 teaspoons shortening

Inflate the balloons until they measure about 3 inches at their widest point. Tie knots in balloons to close. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

Place the dark chocolate and shortening in a microwave-safe 9-inch pie plate. Microwave at medium (50%) for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until smooth. If chocolate is not completely melted, microwave 15 more seconds. Stir until smooth.

Holding a balloon by its knot, dip each balloon into the chocolate and rock it back and forth, coating the top of the balloon and causing the chocolate to come halfway up the sides unevenly for a "tulip" edge. Lift the balloon and let excess chocolate drip off before placing, knot up, on baking sheet. Refrigerate 30 minutes until chocolate is firm

Remove from refrigerator and carefully pop each balloon with the tip of a sharp knife. Gently lift the deflated balloon from the cups and discard. Cover chocolate cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 3 days.

fill with your choice of pudding, ice cream, fruit with whipped cream, choc dipped fruits, cookies etc.
enjoy

This year for our holiday dessert table i am making choc dipped apricots, cashews, pretzels, marshmallows and nilla wafer cookies.I did this for Thanksgiving and it was gobbled up in minutes,so i guess they liked it!!!

That is the greatest idea ever. Just think how many different
things we could fill them with. Also, what a conversation piece!!!

Why not hop on over to the recipe and scrapbook board. There are some fabulous holiday recipes being posted.

Thanks for the information. We did not know there
was such a board. How do you get to that specific
board?

We only know the discussion board. Otherwise
I do not know how to get around DIS to much.

I just thought it would be fun to put up some
holiday recipes with a Disney Title.

Thanks again for the information.

Go to the top of this page, on the left side, click on *THE DIS DISCUSSION FORUMS* (underlined in blue) and scroll down to the *Recipe & Scrapbooking* forum. Have fun! :)

You can also go down to the bottom of this page left, and click on the gray drop down menu that says forum jump. All of the discussion boards are listed there too. There are a couple a dozen to choose from.

Hope to see you jumping around from time to time.

Hello, and welcome to the Holiday Cooking extravaganza. I am your host Chef Jeff and today I will be helping you to prepare a Disney themed romantic dinner to share with those that you love.

We will start off our dinner with a wonderful and easy soup. Begin by boiling a pot of water. Don't worry to much about how much water because if you boil to much, just leave it on the stove for a while and it will magically disappear. Once the water is bubbling (from being hot, not from blowing air through a straw), you are ready to add your Disney ingredients. First, you will need some bouillon cubes. These come in two flavors, beef and chicken. I prefer the beef for two reasons. First, everything already tastes like chicken so this is a nice change. Second, according to the advertisement on television, “Beef, it’s what’s for dinner.” This is the tricky part, these bouillon cubes are square so take your pocket knife and after wiping it off on your pants to make sure it is clean, trim the corners off so that the cube becomes round. Do that for 3 cubes then lick the edges of two of the cubes and stick them to the third one. Voila, instant Mickey heads. Drop those puppies into the boiling water and in 5 minutes you have soup.

While your guests are enjoying their gourmet soup du jour, you can begin making the main course. For this you will need two things, a phone and your zip code. Go to www.dominos.com and enter your zip code. You will be given a phone number to dial. When the dude with the cracking voice answers, tell them you want 2 small cheese pizzas and a large pepperoni. Here is the tricky part, tell them to arrange the pepperoni on the large so it looks like a face. Oh, and tell them you have a coupon (even if you don’t because they never ask for it anyway). Within 20 minutes, an eager assistant will deliver to your door a wonderful and festive meal. Take the three pizzas and arrange them on a large table so that they form the shape of Mickey ears and watch the excitement of your guests as they see all the work you have done.

To top off such a splendid meal, it is usually customary to serve a fancy dessert that is as much food as it is a work of art. For this you will need miniature and regular sized Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. On a fancy plate, place a large Peanut Butter cup in the center. Above that, place 2 miniature Peanut Butter Cups so that it forms Mickey’s ears. That alone would be a wonderful dessert but add this special touch to hear those “ooo’s” and “ahs”. Take Hershey’s syrup and drizzle (fancy word for squirt) it all over the plate. For a special treat, spell out “Mickey” in chocolate syrup. Throw some powdered sugar on the plate and a couple of grapes that are lying around the cupboard and you have a fancy dessert that would cost like $20 in those nice restaurants.

I will guarantee you that if you serve this meal at your next holiday dinner party, people will be talking about this for the rest of your life.

This is a meal fit for a princess, a Disney princess. The desert sounds fabulous. I am going to save this menu plan for my next dinner party, or maybe for our next Disney trip planning night. I think the family would be worth all the time and energy to pull off such a gourmet treat.

Thanks Jeff,
Chessie
