Any great drinks on board...gotta use that $50 credit!

While we're talking about favorite, great drinks on DCL ships....who has recommendations for some that are NOT so sweet? I love a sweet, fruity boat drink once in a while, but I have trouble finding specialty drinks on board that aren't literally like dessert in a glass! For me it's (admittedly!) not about trying to cut back on sugar or be healthy in any way, it's just a taste preference. Or which is the best bartender to track down on the Fantasy in August to ask the same question?

The DCL bartenders do seem to know how to make a really good caipirinha.

I wish I could say Jerry from Ireland, as he was an *amazing* bartender who was a true student of the craft, but he left two weeks after our February cruise to become one of the diamond salespeople. After that I would seek out Julian, wherever he is. He's Jamaican. Shaved head. Excellent bartender and a ton of fun. He really knows his stuff. Sam, from India, is also a great bartender. He was at the Cove Bar when we were last on the boat.

LOL! Although I watched the show when it was originally on, for the life of me, I wouldn't have been able to tell you what network it was on.

This sort of trivia is what occupies most of my brain and prevents me from ever knowing where my keys are. Today, I was filling out a form that asked my age. I was stumped. I had to do the math using my year of birth to figure it out. But Miami Vice was on NBC, that I remember without a problem.

One of the Athens drinks in Skyline was really good - I forget the name, but it has Ouzo in it which cuts the sweetness of the fruit that is in there.

I really liked Andrae from Jamaica - he worked mornings in the Cove Cafe and evenings in the bar in the atrium. He was great!!

Is this a rhetorical question?

The poster may be referring to the fact that, in some contexts, the abbreviation "BBC" means something very very different. And he doesn't mean the British Broadcasting Company.

Meridian has a really nice Creme Brullee martini! :)
THAT sounds awesome.

We're taking out 3rd Disney cruise (second time on the Fantasy) this September and our son will be 8. For the first time, we're actually PLANNING on some adult activities and may decide to switch to late dining. We've always catered to my son's schedule for his age (in bed by a certain time so he's not over exhausted, etc.) and I can't wait for hubby and I go to a lounge and have a drink. I'll have to keep that one in mind! I hope it's strong. Sorry but if I'm spending $0+ on a drink, I want to know it's worth it. :stir:

I know. Some of us don't live on questionable subreddits, though I do have a rum in my liquor collection that could be referred to as BBD. Quite tasty, despite the name.
