Anyone have any delicious but easy appetizer recipes out there? I'm having 10 people over this weekend. It would need to be something that is safe for a pregnant woman to eat, and preferably something children would like too. I've used all of my "usuals" on this group before, so I need a new fool-proof recipe or 2 to try! Thanks so much!!

this is one of my favorites that i do ALLLLL the time...from the pampered chef cookbook

Elegant Artichoke Cups

24 square wonton wrappers
1 can (14 ounces) artichoke hearts in water, drained and coarsely
chopped
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
2 tablespoons finely snipped fresh parsley
1 lemon
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove, pressed
1/2 cup (2 ounces) grated fresh Parmesan cheese, divided

Preheat oven to 350°F. Press one wonton wrapper into each cup of
Deluxe Mini-Muffin Pan using Mini-Tart Shaper. Lightly spray wontons
with vegetable oil using Kitchen Spritzer. Bake 6 minutes or until
edges of wontons are light golden brown. Remove from oven to Stackable
Cooling Rack; set aside, leaving wontons in pan.

Meanwhile, coarsely chop artichokes using Food Chopper; place in
Classic Batter Bowl. Dice bell pepper using Chef's Knife. Finely snip
parsley using Kitchen Shears. Using Lemon Zester/Scorer, zest lemon to
measure 1/2 teaspoon zest; finely snip zest using Kitchen Shears. Add
bell pepper, parsley, lemon zest, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise and
garlic pressed with Garlic Press to batter bowl; mix well.

Using Deluxe Cheese Grater, grate Parmesan cheese. Add half of the
Parmesan cheese to artichoke mixture; mix well using Small Mix 'N
Scraper(R). Using Small Scoop, fill each wonton cup with one rounded
scoop of artichoke mixture; sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese.
Bake 8 minutes or until edges of wontons are golden brown and cheese is
melted. Remove from pan; serve immediately.

Cook's Tip: Wonton wrappers are paper-thin sheets of dough used to make
filled wontons and egg rolls. They can be found in the produce section
of most supermarkets.

i usually leave out the peppers and add a ton of garlic. they're really easy and all you need are the mini-muffin pans, but i love how it has like 5 million pampered chef items in the recipe. i also just throw everything in my food processor.

there's another one with cocktail weenies, bacon and brown sugar. (i got it from disboards, but i dunno what section! lol!)

place a wire rack inside of a flat baking pan. that will keep the weenies from swimming in the bacon grease.

wrap the weenies with bacon. you can secure with a toothpick if you want, i just placed them seam side down.

once you have the pan full, sprinkle brown sugar on top evenly. i think we baked them 30 minutes on 400. just check them before pulling them out of the oven. they are soooo good and nooooo calories ;)

one of our new favorites is a cheese mold. we took a smaller fleur de lis mold (pan) and lined it with saran wrap. in the food processor, we had cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, feta, garlic (we love garlic!) and i think bleu was snuck in (hubby hates it, so that's why it was snuck.).

instead of shaping it into a ball, we pressed it into the pan and let sit in the fridge over nite. it popped right out the next day, but we had to let it sit a little bit so it could be scooped with a cracker.

i think there's disney app's listed over on the huge recipe thread, but i'm not sure where that's located.

sweet bacon chicken wraps by paula deen on the food network site is great & easy. it's a piece of boneless chicken breast wrapped in bacon & marinated in a brown sugar & chili powder blend. I prepare them the night before & let them marinate all night in the fridge.

The new favorite at my house is Sugar Weenies; mini franks wrapped in a third of a piece of bacon then baked with brown sugar on top. YUM!

:thumbsup2 Except mini weenies can be expensive -- I buy a package of hot dogs and cut in 3rds.

Depends on the group but one our favorites are Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls.

Use the wonton/egg roll wrappers from the grocery store. Cook up a few chicken breasts, I either bake them or even boil them. Mix up Buffalo sauce or use a bottle one. Shred the chicken and mix with the Buffalo sauce. Put in wrappers and wrap up. Lightly fry in pan.

The frying is a little time consuming but otherwise the whole thing is pretty easy. I serve with homemade blue cheese dressing.

I love the candied pig recipe posted already, huge hit this Christmas (cocktail smokies, brown sugar, bacon). It was easier for me to put them in double ziploc and shake in the brown sugar.

This isn't cheap, but one of my family's favorite appy is bacon wrapped shrimp. Take large peeled deveined shrimp, wrap in 1/2 slice bacon, secure with toothpick, and grill til bacon is done. So, so good.

Another one I love is cream cheese fruit dip. 1 box room temp cream cheese with 1 jar marshmallow creme mixed well in a kitchenaid. It can be flavored with a lil oj or thinned out with cool whip. Best served cold. Perfect dip for strawberry season.

Taco Dip: Beat together 1 pkg. softened cream cheese (reduced fat versions work well, too) with at least half a pkt. of taco seasoning and a bit of milk. Spread on a large platter and top with shredded lettuce, cheese, green onions, tomatoes, black olives--whatever you like. Serve with tortilla chips.

Chicken and Salsa Dip (recipe from Trader Joe's): They say to make it in the oven, but I made it in a slow cooker. It's just for reheating so it's only going to take an hour or so, if that. Mix together a tub of fresh salsa, a can of cannellini beans (drained), 8oz. cheese, and already prepared shredded bbq chicken. Turn on low until heated through. Also serve with tortilla chips.

Prosciutto Wraps: Cut a block of mozzarella chees into 1/4" thick slices. Cut prosciutto slices into 4 pieces each (one horizontal center cut and one vertical center cut). Top a piece of cheese with a fresh basil leaf and wrap with a piece of prosciutto. Serve with Ritz or Club crackers.
