Any good tips for carrying your WDW tickets while in the parks?

I can't recall from our trip 7 years ago how the Disney park tickets work and I think the system has likely changed quite a bit anyways. Do you just show your ticket for entry into the park and also to get fastpasses? Or do you need them out for each ride as well? I had thought about putting the tickets into a plastic card/lanyard type thing for my kids to wear around their necks and just tuck under their tshirts when on rides. Can anyone give me more details on how the tickets work and also share any tips for not losing them in the park - my kids are older enough to go off on their own for a while but I don't want their tickets going missing! I have already copied them in the event they are lost! Thanks.

The lanyard is a great idea but I would suggest that a single person in the group keep all the tickets together. You only need to show them to get into the park and then to get fast passes. By keeping them all together you can send a single person into the FP line instead of the entire family.

Also I suggest the pouch on the lanyard be sealable so they don't get wet and things don't go flying out of them (speaking from experience having lost $40 and a bunch of fast passes from my lanyard on Space Mountain last year).

The PPs suggestions about the lanyard and pouch are excellent. We have pouches with a ziplock closure which we find very safe for our KTTW and our fastpasses.

When you enter the park everyone needs to insert his or her own ticket into the turnstile card reader and insert their finger into the scanner. This is one of the few times when each person needs to have their own ticket in hand. The other time they will need their own KTTW is during EMH (I'm assuming you are staying onsite). During EMH each person needs to show their KTTW every time they want to enter an attraction.

if you have 1 person take all tickets to get a FP? There are no names on the tickets but can we do something to identify them for each individual? Thanks.

If you're staying onsite and have a package deal, the tickets will have everyone's names on them. They'll also be used for meal plan, room keys and room charges.

If you're off-site or don't have a package, just write everyone's name on the tickets with a pen or marker the first time you use them.

I wasn't sure if you could write on them or not. Thanks.

If you get no-expiry tickets take a photo of the back of the card so that if the card is ever lost then it can be easier to replace. Sister found this out the hard way

I will do that and put a copy in my binder of "important stuff". It keeps getting bigger and bigger as I spend more time on this board. So many great ideas and suggestions to try and remember!!

we use the pouches -- it's always our first purchase after arriving at the resort (we use them for other things after the trip so they're totally rode off before our trip each year)

DD loves the lanyard, but DH and I get the ones with multiple clips since they can clip onto our jackets or zipper pulls.

Since we have paper park tix, I usually carry all of them in my pouch (we write down the number on the back in case they're ever lost, and those are different because each one has to be signed). Everyone carries their own KTTW -- they're easily replaceable and they have your name right on the front.

I had never used the lanyard till I went on the backstage magic ABD trip. Sooo much easier with the lanyard. Next WDW trip lanyards all around!
