HEY,
does anyone know any good things they'd like to share about OKW? If you do, please answer soon because we are leaving in less than 2 weeks.

We stayed at OKW in a one bedroom villa about 3 years ago. It was without a doubt the best hotel we have ever been to. It was the cleanest place, also. There was a jacuzzi in the room, as well as a laundry room--in our room!!!!!! We had a full kitchen, 2 TVs, 1 with a VCR, a separate bathroom with HUGE standup shower, a "porch" with large table & 4 chairs and a ceiling fan--OUTSIDE!!! We were on the golf course--beautiful views! The only bad thing was that where our building was, it was quite a hike to the main pool and the food service. Although, there was a bus that stopped by every half hour or so, just outside our building. We would stay there again, if we could afford it LOL! I'm sure you'll have a great time.:D

First let me say I am a vacation club owner and my home is Boardwalk. Having said that I stay mostly at OKW. I love the rooms (larger than the other DVC rooms). The studios come with two beds instead of a bed and pull out couch. As Ceb29 points out the one bedroom units are beautiful. We have one reserved for our trip in October.

The bell people are outstanding. Much, much friendlier than other places and very accommodating.

Olivia's is very good and we always try to have dinner there at least once on our trip and always ask for Dominic. They have this chocolate fudge cake that he puts in the microwave (so the fudge gets nice and runny) and tops it with ice cream and whipped cream - outstanding! A friend likes the apple dessert but I can't seem to get past the fudge cake.

It's very quiet and very laid back. It's a great place to stay.

You didn't say what size room you are staying in, but even the smallest rooms (studios) are bigger than anything else at WDW. The studios have a kitchenette with a small, undercounter refrigerator and a microwave. The larger units have a full kitchen (with full size appliances, not apartment size ones), a large great room, king bed in the master bedroom and the huge balcony that someone else mentioned.
One of the neat things to do there is take the boat to DD. It leaves about every 20 minutes from the dock at Hospitality House and runs (I think) from noon until a little past 9pm.

I adore OKW. Its pool is one of my all-time favorites. I just love hanging out there (especially for midnight swims when the pool area is almost vacant). And I really enjoy my meals at Olivia's. Yum. We've always had wonderful service there, too.

I hope you enjoy your OKW stay as much as we have. We haved stayed there for a night or two on quite a few of our vacations. We will definitely stay there again. Don't forget to check out the "DVC" board here on the Dis for more OKW information.

By the way, if you want to view videos of the OKW rooms (studios, one- & two-bedroom & Grand Villas), please click here to go to the OKW page on DU's website. I have stayed in studio & one-bedroom villa rooms at OKW. Enjoyed 'em all.
