Any Good steaks in Disney?

Let me guess -- OP, are you from the midwest? I am currently living on the east coast where you pay $60 dollars at a fine dining restaurant for what is Costco-quality steaks in my home state of Missouri, so I agree disney steaks are never going to match up to what you can get a nice steakhouse in Chicago or St. Louis, but they are just fine for what you can get in Washington DC. Plus, it has never been a deal-breaker for me to receive an improperly cooked steak. That can happen more or less anywhere, and it is always an easy fix to send it back.

No we are from NYC lol. So we have no problem paying a lot of money for food. The steak being cooked wrong was the best part of our whole experience at a Yachtsman lol. I can always forgive that! Service was horrible, steak went back twice and still wasn’t cooked correctly and not seasoned at all but the lobster was our final straw lol

Yikes!

I would vote for Shula's or Artist Point. Yes, California Grill has steak but I believe the restaurant is one of the most overrated restaurants on all of WDW property.

I've tried all the steak places at WDW. My favorite on property is Yachtsman. But the best is a very short ride away at the Waldorf Astoria (Bonnet Creek) Bull & Bear restaurant.

no one knows what Artist Point will be post October, no ADRs available and rumors of a character meal

this sounds shockingly like my experience at narcoossees, only we couldn't send the steak back a second time because our server was MIA. The lobster was terrible, the texture was really off and it makes me wonder if they subbed caribbean that night too (I thought it was just undercooked). it was just the tails though and they were rather on the smaller side and rather on the orange side.

The only thing consistent about Disney is they are inconsistent, but I'm with you... an experience like that sours you on the place and makes you unlikely to give it another chance.

You are correct about Disney being inconsistent lol!!! Maybe we should just keep it simple and do Food & Wine an extra night and not so many sit downs lol

Truthfully, steak has been the most consistently good entree we’ve ordered at Disney ala carte restaurants.

I too had a very tasty steak at Mama Melrose. I’ve had good steaks at Be Our Guest and Coral Reef. Steak is not difficult to prepare, and if the quality of the meat is reasonable, it’s going to be good wherever you choose.

Here’s the thing, Disney doesn’t really make a great steak or a great anything. They provide great themeing and great venues and great experiences but the food itself isn’t. If you are one that has high expectations for a particular type of food you’ll be disappointed, regardless of the type of food. Some examples: I love Beirgarten but my friends from PA tell me it’s subpar German food- since it’s the only German food I eat, it seems good to me. I know the same goes for sushi throughout the parks- there are some good options but many folks will tell you that it’s just mediocre. The hibachi in Japan is the favorite of many but no better (and often worse) than the 5 in my hometown. I really can’t think of anything that Disney does that’s simply great (it’s not the pizza, the beer, the Mexican, the Italian, the seafood...).
Don’t get me wrong, you can get lots of good food throughout and many Disney meals rank among my favorites anywhere, but not because it was the best _____ you can get.
2 exceptions:
V&A
Mickey Bars

So true but the original poster didn't say when their next trip was so therefore; Artist Point was a valid suggestion if they were planning a trip before October.

The rest of my traveling party has an AP ADR for today but I stayed in the city due to a family emergency. Here's hoping I can squeeze in a trip during this stay for another day.
