any good reviews for 1900 park fair dinner

has any one had a good exp. with this new dinner, have ps for next week, from what I have read thinking of canceling. my girls are 7 and 11. we just want decent food,and interaction with characters.

I am waiting to hear replies also. We have reservations for next Friday (2/14) and I am very concerned about what I am reading. We ate there for dinner in Sept 2001. The food was okay. The interaction with the characters was great. However, we were there when it was very slow.

I can't tell you about recent experiences, but we went to 1900 Park Faire in July when they still had Winnie the Pooh and Friends and my family and I thought the food was excellent and the character interaction was almost non-stop. We did both 1900 and Chef Mickey's on this last trip and the food was a lot better at 1900 Park Faire this time around. Like I said, my experience is about 8 months old but we were very satisfied. I will say, it may be a lot more crowded now with the Princesses there.

We've always had excellent food at 1900 Park Faire. But in my opinion, the wait staff leave a lot to be desired. They are a bit lofty (snooty) and if you appear ordinary, they don't spend much time taking care of you. If you are dressed like someone who can afford to stay at the GF, they spend more time with you. We had a heck of a time getting refills on our drinks, plates cleared away, and other problems. Character interaction is good, but Eeyore skpped our table (he is my niece's favorite) and we had a hard time getting him to come back ( our waiter was no help at all). I guess it's good that the food is a buffet instead of served to you.

Well, a group of us ate there on Jan19th and were unfortunately less than impressed.

The food wasn't bad, just overpriced, in all of our opinions (7 of us, including one 12 yo child). All 6 adults are used to eating at Disney, and are used to the Disney price inflation, and we still thought it was overpriced.

The character interaction wasn't what we desired, either. Only the Fairy Godmother and Cinderella's mice circulate. You have to stand in line to meet Cinderella and Prince Charming.

IMHO, this is a buffet to choose only if your kids are hell bent on meeting Cinderella. If they would be happy with Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Goofy--I would switch your PS to Chef Mickeys. The food is decent, and the characters are much more fun, and it's a liitle cheaper, too.

I'll ask TNMomof3 to weigh in w/ her opinion, too.

We ate at the Cinderella's Dinner on Friday Jan 23. It was fine. The food was good, plentiful, and they had something for everyone. Lots of salads, meats,seafood and a special buffet table for the children. They also had a make your own cupcake section. The adult deserts were heavenly.
This is a very hectic and noisy character meal compared to others. There is less character interaction than with the other princess breakfasts. If you are looking for a place to relax and eat, don't do it here
Having said that, this was the most magical meal for or 4.5 DD. She was able to dress up in an evening party dress (as were many of the other girls). Cinderella and Prince Charming spent a lot of time with her. (I think this is the only meal with the Prince)The mice were fantastic. We missed the fairy Godmother so our waitress personally took DD to the back room to meet her. The waitress was great, always there with refills. We attended the other breakfasts, but this one was magic! GF at night, with lights on was breathtaking. After dinner we walked to the boat docks and watched the fireworks, a great first night in WDW

I'm glad someone had a great time at this dinner. I have a PS for our first night at Disney. DD who is 4 loves Cinderella, and I was going to bring her Cinderella dress down with us. I hope I've made the right decision.

Colexi's Mom--if your daughter loves Cinderella, this is a good meal that lets her meet Cinderella without having to go thru the hassle of trying to get breakfast reservations at CRT.

We have a PS for the Cinderella dinner as a back-up just in case we can't get CRT. My DD's just have to see Cinderella! DD2 is scared of every character but her.

I was not thrilled with this character meal. Let me start though by saying I'm not a fan of Disney dinner buffets (with a strong exception given to Boma), so I may not be the best one to ask about the food. I've heard lots of reports from people who like the dinner buffets, who claim this is the best one.

There was a large variety of food, but I just didn't find anything that tasted really good. Maybe it was an off night, but I kept thinking what I could have gotten for my $30 at another restaurant.

We original booked this meal in the hope that it would involve the stepsisters. I thought that would be a hoot, and provide a very fun atmosphere with Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, and the step sisters. As it was, you only have 3 characters rotating in a fairly large space. I do have to give kudos to the Fairy Godmother though. She does quite a good job.

I was disappointed that you had to line up in the foyer to visit with Cinderella and the Prince.

I have two daughters. One is almost 7 and the other is 15 mos. old. Oldest DD has been to CRT and PSB and is getting to the age where she enjoys the princesses, but knows they aren't real. I would not book this meal for her. That being said...when youngest DD is around 3-5 yrs. old, is in love with the Princesses and believes they are real...I will book it for her only if we can't get CRT.

To the poster who has girls age 7 & 11 - I might reconsider unless they are serious Cinderella fans, or you like Disney dinner buffets.

To the poster with the 4 year old who wants to dress as Cinderella - go for it! It will be tons of fun for her, and for you to watch her. I did see Cinderella interacting with some young children in the foyer, and she was doing a great job.

I really hope that they'll add some more characters to the restaurant rotation. I do love the fact that there is another Princess meal available.

We ate at the character dinner on January 30th and were not impressed. In fact, this was the worst meal during our entire stay (ten nights including numerous buffets).

The place was pretty crowded when we arrived - we ate late, around 8:00 pm - but cleared out as we ate. We did have a PS but had to wait for about twenty minutes.

The food was bad. The entrees were either lukewarm or overcooked and there was really nothing that impressed me. Even the kids food was not very good - the chicken strips which I usually like to eat (and so do my two kids) were like the pressed nuggets and McDonalds and not the good strips of white meat served at other buffets.

The dessert items were also bad - usually dessert is the saving grace of any buffet but this buffet really had nothing that I liked (and I like most things) very much.

The service was okay - plates did stack up and drinks were not refilled very rapidly. Character interaction was not taht good - although the Fairy Godmother was very attentive.

Also, I truly dislike the set up of the kids food area - it is low to the ground so that kids can take there own food and make there own dessert cupcakes. What this amounts to however is little kids grabbing food with there hands and eating things at the serving areas and generally making a mess. While kids will be kids- this is unsanitary and I did not think this area was very clean.

Given the cost of this meal - I doubt I will ever return. There are too many other good places to eat (including other buffets) to ever consider doing this again.

We ate there in September and it was FABULOUS!!! Of course it was Winnie not the Princesses but I'm assumng the menu hasn't changed just the characters.

You have to try the Strawberry Soup - it's heavenly!!

We only got thru half the buffet and didn't have room to try dishes from the other half!!

Luv this place - would do it again in a heartbeat!!

This is our favorite on property buffet, and we make a point of going there each trip.

Our last visit during Christmas week was as good as the previous two times we went! We also do Chef Mickey's each trip, but 1900 Park Fare is much better food in our opinion. Their breakfast buffet is also our favorite.

our two DDs are really looking forward to the new characters when we go down in July.

We were looking forward to the stepsisters too. It's too bad they weren't able to cast them. A little bit of evil would have been fun.

I still have a PS for this one, but I'm thinking of cancelling and trying O'hana's or Chef Mickey's.

A friend of mine just returned last night, and said the dinner was a bit of a disappointment.
They had 5:30pm reservations last Tuesday, and when they arrived Cinderella and the Prince were outside greeting guests.
They checked in for their reservation and then waited 1/2 hour in line to have their daughters picture taken with Cinderella.
They were finally seated at 6:15 (45 minutes after their PS time).
The only characters walking around during dinner were the mice and the Fairy Godmother. Cinderella and Prince Charming never left the lobby.
She said the food was good for a buffet, but would not return because did not feel like she had a "personal experience" with the characters.
They used their breakfast at Crystal Palace as a comparison, and said the character interactions at CP were much better.

Hope things improve. And soon. We're making a quickie trip down to Orlando Feb 22-26, and have booked the GF 1900 dinner for our first night.

It's always been our FAVORITE Disney character buffet: terrific and interesting food, engaging characters, fun atmosphere. I hope the change in characters hasn't meant a change in quality.

BTW: we are NUTS about the deserts at 1900, esp. the bread pudding!!
