Any good FREE wait time apps

The My Disney Experience app shows wait times, and they're in-line with the posted times.

EasyWDW.com/waits and DisneyWaitTimes.com are not apps but they are web sites that are fast loading and can be easily bookmarked on a smart phone. They show the same posted the MDE app would but also show actual wait times. Gives you an idea, not 100% accurate. These are probably the 3 best options of the ones out there.

Disney waits times also has an Android app (free) available in the Google store. No Apple app, though.

The Disney wait times site has been amazingly accurate for us this trip. In fact, in Star Tours' fastpass lane, you have the clearest view of the cast member computer screen that is used. On the display it showed the cast member the posted wait time and the actual wait time. I whipped out my phone to look at the Disney wait times site and it was identical. I don't know if that was coincidence or if that site is somehow tied in, but either way it's been perfect this whole trip in every park.

Agreed totally. We have iPhones, so no app for us, but we just opened up the site in the browser all day. It was incredibly accurate every single time we used it. At one point it said Test Track had a 10 minute standby and the official wait time was 40 minutes, but we said to heck with it and tried it anyway! Not 10 minutes later we were climbing into our car and heading off on the ride. Can't recommend it enough honestly.

This. ^^^ They were probably 90% accurate during our trip. They came in handy several times.

We've simply used the MDE app from Disney. Its fed by the same system that posts the wait times in the parks so its always up to date.

All three source the same data. Disney ports that data via an API that web programmers like EasyWDW and DisneyWaitTimes know how to access.

I found the two web sites to be much quicker loads on my phone than the MDE app and used less battery.

Keep in mind the "Actual" wait time is only of the last measured card read and can contain the last sampled FP queue wait time because they sample both FP and SB. When you see a SB wait time of 45 and an "Actual" of, say, 10 then you are seeing the actual FP wait time. When you see a SB wait time of 45 and an "Actual" of, say, 38 then you are seeing the actual SB wait time.

For us in November, usually the actual wait time was in the same ballpark but not 100% accurate. But I'd imagine that's impossible. For instance, Splash was posted at 45 minutes with actual listed at 20 minutes. We ended up waiting about 35 minutes. As long as no one is relying on the actual time down to the minute for FP+ or ADR purposes, it's still good data to check.
