We (two 30 somethings, no kids) are looking for some free (or at least really cheap) things to check out in the Orlando area. Any suggestions? We are going to be spending four days off-site before we move to WDW and we are just looking for some extra little things to do. Any public gardens or anything like that? Any suggestions at all? We don't mind driving out a ways if there is something cool to see or do.

Take a drive on International Dr. There is alot of cool visuals. FOA Schwartz with their 20 ft Ball and huge Barbie shoes is a fun sight! Race Cars driving out of Restaurants,NBA restaurants,
Belz Outlet[has Discounted Disney and Universal merchandise],
Disney's Fort Wilderness has a nightly[weather permitting] campfire, with S'more's[$4.00 a kit or bring your own]and after watch the movie!

Also Spook Hill (never been).

Downtown Disney is always fun to look.
Citywalk is free, and you can park in the garage for free after 6 pm.. lots of cool restaurants.

I seem to remember somebody saying something about a free Orchid garden, but you would have do a search on that.

Our favorite off-site Disney activity is Old Towne. It is an outdoor shopping complex on hwy 192 just east of I-4. They have very unique stores and many carnival rides are available. It's a great place to go just to walk around and it's free (if it's free, it's me!)

I had forgotten all about Spook Hill! An amazing little "natural wonder".

Cdrn, Spook Hill is a great idea! And it's close to Bok Tower Gardens...that would be a nice relaxing day. It's not too far of a drive, but far enough to get you away from the hustle & bustle of Orlando for a bit.

We had a really enjoyable day at the Orlando Science Center. It has excellent exhibits, even actors doing skits about nature and Leonardo DiVinci's may inventions.

It was free because we are members of our local Science Center. We just showed our membership card.
