I'm planning A week long offsight trip to WDW. I just wondered is there are any of the resort or other lots that we could park in to watch the fireworks on days when were not hitting the parks?

Thanks!
Dave

Downtown Disney has both fireworks and free parking. Does that fit the bill?

I have found that after a certain time they stop charging to park in the lots.

Just wanted to have someone clarify or expand on this for me. We are coming in on a Wed. but aren't using our park passes until Thursday. It would be cool to watch fireworks or some show on Wed. night. What is the best option? We are staying at AKL. Can we take the monorail to the Poly to see the parade there? Or watch fireworks at DD?? Any advice is appreciated!

I would assume you'd have to pay to park at the T and T parking lot to take the monorail to the Poly, since there is no monorail at AKL.

Not if you're staying at AKL. Parking at the theme parks is free for onsite guests.

When you talk about the parade, I assume you mean the electrical water parade.

For offsite, have you thought about trying to get a PS to eat at 'Ohana or Kona and just park at the Polynesian itself and see the fireworks and water parade from either 'Ohana or the beach?

NOTE: the fireworks at Downtown Disney (Pleasure Island) are shot off at midnight and last a grand total of about 25 seconds. I would not consider them worth waiting around to see.

Thank you so much for that info...you're right...midnight is not an option! Especially since it seems like during Feb. the parks close early, so we will want to get an early start!

I will look into the PS - that sounds like a great idea! We have never seen the electrical water parade! :cool1:

We were let in at closing at Epcot to see Illuminations (it was our 1st night and we got in too late to burn a pass day). My family had AP's so it didn't matter but our exchange student and her friend had hoppers, they just openned the gate and let us all in, another great Disney moment. (FYI we were at the International Gateway entrance)
