Any free dining pins, etc

Just curious, how are you eligible to receive these pins? I know there's no guarantee but I'm a complete newbie to Disney World planning

Welcome! Nobody really has an answer for that. Some say they have gotten them after taking surveys in the parks or ordering planning videos. My mom got one snail mail after going with us and staying in our room. Came to our address, so I think they used the address off our ressie. Go to the Disney site and log in, make sure you allow any correspondence they offer and make sure they aren't blocked. Try searches on their site for rooms during a time your interested in going. If you get an AP, they usually send emails through Disney Destination with pins for specials but not always. Wishing you Pixie Dust!

I agree, no rhyme nor reason on how to get a PIN. We have been going for 20 years and I use my main email for all my Disney stuff. I have never gotten a PIN. My husband got a PIN at his work email and he never uses that email address (security purposes) and he can't even access any websites from it except work websites. I had opened an email address last year specifically for correspondence with all the venue's, cake info, flower stuff, etc. for my daughters wedding. I was going in to close it last week since the wedding is over and I had a PIN from Disney for the room discounts that are out now (so there are PINS out there now). We have never accessed or requested any information from Disney with that email address so not sure how that happened but I am not shutting that email address down now :thumbsup2 Hoping for FD in September!:goodvibes

Any free dining pins or packages been offered so far this year?
There were Free Dining pins for select dates in January - March, 2014, but there hasn't been any general public 2014 promos released yet. There should be a some FD dates for possibly late August - September, within the next few weeks.

Can I ask how PIN codes work? What information do you need to give if phoning to ask if there's a PIN code attached to your account? Is it just your name?

I think all you need to do is simply call Disney Reservations and then ask them if they have any pin codes attached to your name. The recently released free dining falls both out of our dates and doesn't include POR, which is a must for us. I was going to let the action die down a bit, then call to find out if we have any.

Good luck.

Thanks. I read on another thread that free DDP PIN codes include POR which we would have preferred over CBR. I'm from the UK so we don't tend to get PIN codes and don't know if there's even a chance one would be attached to my name. I feel I have to chance it!

So after receiving a PIN and booking yesterday, I went to the Disney site this morning and booked a Vacation DVD, and promptly recieved a second PIN code in my email this afternoon (good for FD until the end pf Sept. at almost all resorts... POR and FQ included).
It's basically the same rate, just a completely different PIN code.

So they're out there people... have faith!

No pin for us :( so I ordered the DVD and we'll see if we get one later

I've never called to check on a pin before, so I thought what the heck, I'll call. The CM i got was super nice and she checked my name and sure enough I had pin....however....it was a room discount only through August and we are looking to go in December. Like a lot of people, we wanted to stay at Port but took the FD at CSR. The CM did tell me post cards for FD for later in the year were mailed out yesterday so keep an eye out everyone! Good luck!:cool1:

:sad2: Unfortunately I can't order a planning DVD as it only offers US & Canada. I think I'll call anyway. What's the worst that can happen!

Not even on the system apparently :(. Odd because I just booked CBR through the US website and MNSSHP tickets. CM said she'd never seen a PIN code outside the US. Oh well, just need to get excited about CBR! At least we still have free DDP.

Pffft! I got 4 PIN codes this year for WDW and 12 (count em'... 12!!!) for Disneyland last year... and I live in Canada. My relatives in Ireland received PIN codes for WDW before I did, so they are definitely out there.

I think the more trips you take (booking with WDW specifically and not through a TA or somewhere like Orbitz or Expedia) the more chance you have of receiving future PINs. I could be completely wrong, but it sounds like they couldn't find you in the system, so maybe once they have you there, you'll start getting the codes :thumbsup2

I can't help wondering if she got my name or postcode wrong when she was entering the information. She thought Q for Quebec was 2. :confused3. I've literally just booked with them so surely I must be in the system?? I really need to stop being so ungrateful but we had really gotten excited about POR before we found out it was excluded. I know we'll have a great time at CBR though.
