Any fluffy people at water parks?

in the grand scheme of things im probably not that large, but to me, i am....ive always found the tubes a problem (possibly because my behind is small in proportion to the rest of me hahaha!)...i can do them though, although my backside always ends up touching the water through the tube (am guessing i'll have to rectify this in order to save much bruising on crush n gusher!)...but anyway, I had no issues at the water parks and did what I wanted to do! Just enjoy your own holiday and everyone will enjoy theirs too...like others have said it's not about who has the best body, but who has the most fun :smooth:

I am also fluffy pooh sized. I used to be young, thin and gorgeous. After hitting 40 and now with hypothyroidism, I am old, fluffy but still gorgeous. At least thats what my DH says. The gorgeous part. I would have to kill him if he said I was old and fluffy. :rotfl2:

I have 3 swimming suits I am taking. Everyone is just going to have to look at my fluff.

I used to be young, thin and gorgeous.

I was always "the skinny one" in our family-until I turned 35. Then came the Pooh sized thighs. I got one of those Land's End tankinis, and went out to the pool!

I was in the locker room at the Y one morning and some pretty young thing took a long disparaging look at my fat thighs. I looked her straight in the eye and said "Go ahead and look, someday they will be yours!" All of us more mature women got a good laugh.

Don't ever skip something fun at Disney because of the way you think you look, or what you think people will say about you. We all spend way too much time worrying about what other people think about us. Most people are so self absorbed, they don't think about other people at all.

All shapes and sizes at the water parks. Enjoy, your weight is no one elses business.
By the wa y "
ewe's not fat ewes fluffy".

Honestly, I was at Sesame Place this past weekend - I didn't notice anyone for their size - what I did notice was what people were wearing! Holy crow - the people who were wearing proper bathing attire looked great no matter what! The people wearing lord knows what stood out like a sore thumb everywhere! Get yourself a bathing suit you will feel comfortable in. Confidence goes a long way. And then you too can be shocked at people wearing things in public you never would have imagined!!!! :cool1:

Have a fantastic time!!!

I'm not only Pooh size but very white. My DH and DS have lots of giggles making fun of me each year. I'm a good sport. It's all part of our annual trips tradition. Like some of the other posters said, just make sure you wear a nice bathing suit. Some people wear suits that are about 5 sizes too small. What a picture that is. But they have no worries. I love the Lands End Suits too. Lots of support and proper coverage. Life is too short to worry about such things. You're at Disney! Have a great time! :)

I LOVE it!! From all of us mature women to you... Thankyou!! It took alot of years and hard work to get in this shape. My son decided that moms are usually fluffier because they are nicer to cuddle!! I love going to the water parks. Have a ball. its Disney darn it!!

Oh yeah!

Fluffy is in! :lmao: Its the new look.

I'm in style, fluffy all around :teeth:

Seriously, go and have fun and don't worry about it. :goodvibes

Our family have had the most funniest moments trying to get in them tubes in BB's Lazy river to the point of crying with laughter. What ever size you are it doesn't matter, everyone looks the same when they are trying to get in them tubes. I'm really self conscious with how i look when I'm anywhere else but when I'm at WDW I'm just not bothered. Relax and enjoy yourself, you will be in WDW and that's the best place on earth whatever your size. :cloud9:

I just recieved my Land's End suit yeaterday, and my Dfi said it looked amazing. Try the swim shorts they provide coverage for the thighs and hips and are comfortable, and some of the tankini tops come with underwire if you need it. Hope you have fun and glad to see this thread I had worried about this a while back.

I think some of them have weight restrictions.

Try the lazy river if it concerns you.

I tried a tankini on (not Land's End) when they first came out last year. I found that it was tight fitting which made me look even worse. Are Land's End's less form fitting?

I am FLUFFY....I admit it!!! Pretty much anywhere you go these days you will find fluffy folks walking around everywhere. Don't worry about it just go and have a blast. My hang out is on the lazy river. I LOVE IT!!! and I will hang out there all day long if possible. DH did manage to get me on the Crush N Gusher (I think that was what it is called) and we rode it 5 times in a row..I was running up the stairs to go ride again and never once gave it a second thought of the poor innocent souls behind me seeing my "fluffy legs" bouncing around... :rotfl2:

The only thing I ever take notice to is when there are the FLUFFY FOLKS who don't think they are fluffy and come out in a swimsuit 3 times smaller than what they actually need...EWWWW

So my advice for the day: Buy a swimsuit that fits..not the one you wish would fit!!!

I am about 5'3" and 200 lbs...size 22-24. I have NEVER let that stop me from having fun, FUN, FUN!!!! My boys love water parks and we go to the Wisconsin Dells or local places every summer. I will agree with the OP's who mentioned FIT and APPROPRIATENESS of swimwear. Manufacturer's make suits in all sizes and lots of cute ones with nice coverage for plus sizes. Granted they are much harder to find...but they are out there! After seeing lots of "overflowage" at Typhoon Lagoon, I was sure glad I had spent a little extra time to find a flattering swimsuit with proper bust support and skirt that hid a multitude of sins!!!!

Watch out for the Crush n' Gusher...the rollers that propell the tubes will bruise your butt like you wouldn't believe!!! After the first spot, I learned to flatten my body out and pull my fanny higher to avoid the PAIN!!! I don't know if that problem is specific to fluffy folk, though...my average-size 12 y/o son remarked after riding..."Wow! That really hurt my butt!"

Bottom line (no pun intended), enjoy yourself! Life's too short to worry about the fluffy stuff!

Yes that ride hurt my butt the first time so I learned to lean back further on DH, but when I did that at the end of the ride when it shoots you out of the tube into the pool of water it launched me about 5 feet out of the little raft..First time it happened I was not expecting it so I got half the pool up my nose..next few times I did remember to hold my breath!!! :thumbsup2

Let's just say I don't skinny dip. I chunky dunk. I have some chunk (refer to the loose top in the signature pic :) ) My dad is a big and tall man and my mom is short and stout. I didn't have much hope. LOL :rotfl2: I try not to let it bother me. I exercise to keep my heart healthy but I refuse to worship a scale. I say go out and have a blast. Life is too short to worry about what people you will never see again in your life will think.

My only note has nothing to do with size. Just make sure that when you are in the wave pool (in TL) that you are very careful. The floor has lots of rough patches and they hurt. Last time I was there I got a chunk taken off my knee from it and there went the rest of my day at TL. (My idea of fun has nothing to do with bleeding into water with thousands of other people in it).
Be careful, be safe, and have lots of fun :)

My DD's Love the waterparks and I could never think of missing them on a Disney vacation--being 5'8" and approximately 275lbs--I would never dream of going to the teenie bopper hang out pick up hot dates water parks around home --but at Disney it is so family oriented I never even think twice about how I look in my suit I do wear shorts over it for my own modesty. By the way we went to both parks last Oct. and I saw SEVERAL people my (POOH) size and larger with 2 piece bathing suits on--even I was suprised at first and then I thought --it's actually great for them to be so confident and happy with who they are!! You Go Girl :thumbsup2 !!!! And have a great time!!!

I too am a bit fluffy. I wouldn't go to water parks until I found a suit I felt good in....lands end baby!! The two piece shorts with tops are PERFECT for the fluffers!!

Another vote for Lands End!! I love their mix and match pieces. I got a black skirt bottom and a high neck top that's just blousy enough for comfort. The top hangs down over the waist of the skirt. I actually feel kinda cute in the thing. I'm just going to walk around TL in my suit, enjoying myself and not worrying about my size. Feeling good about my suit does help though. I highly suggest checking out Lands End. If you can't find a suit from them, you're not going to find one.
