Any fellow DVC'ers from Upstate NY

Welcome...We're from Syracuse area as well. Love our DVC!!! Flew Jet Blue a few times, been driving lately....not our favorite thing, but we like to be in control. Hate going home during the winter. In Feb. it was beautiful in the south, coming home as soon as we hit the PA/NY border it was nasty!!!

Driving down again in Dec. for Christmas...

Have you considered the Amtrak auto train? We've done that once instead of driving the entire way and it was great.

Wow...look at all of us from good ol' Syracuse! We fly Jetblue as well and did the drive a few times, never again if I can help it.

Yeah, this winter was a bear and I am so glad it is over. Counting the days though until we head to Disney. School is almost over for me so that will really make me excited to keep the count down!

We usually fly Jetblue too....love the direct flights!

We also hail from upstate NY. Have taken JetBlue out of Burlington, Southwest out of Albany, and this year found JetBlue out of Hartford CT to be the best option both schedule & price wise.

I would suggest you learn to ski - great option for outdoor activity up our/your way! We also enjoy taking mini trips down to NYC in December to enjoy the holiday decor & window shopping (train out of Albany makes it really easy).

I'm so sad, JetBlue took away our non-stop flight from ROC -> MCO. Now we have to drive to BUF for that flight or fly Airtran (which my tall DH hates the seats) but they will be Southwest soon.

I'm from Norwich- south east of Syracuse and north of Binghamton- you know right in the middle of nowhere. I didn't know Syracuse had a direct flight. Last time we drove to Rochester to get a direct flight on Jet Blue so I am glad to know there is one out of Syracuse now. The Southwest flight out of Albany is usually too expensive. This past time we drove and I don't want to do that again anytime soon. It is nice to know there are other DVCers here in upstate!

I'm in Endicott so we are both in the middle of nowhere I think Jet Blue has two direct flights per day.....much better than flying from Binghamton and making stops along the way

Yeah, but now the JetBlue nonstop morning flight to Orlando leaves Syracuse at 7:00 AM. Gotta get up awfully early to make that flight from Endicott.

The afternoon flight is at 4:25.

There are two JetBlue nonstop flights from Orlando back to Syracuse. They leave at 1:14 pm and 5:50 pm.

We are from Rochester too..... Like Lisa, we used to fly JetBlue non-stop to MCO but no longer....we fly Airtran now even though I'm 6'2" (My knees are up on the seat infront of me)....We almost flew out of /BUF but have a 7 month old & want to travel the least amount....Welcome OP! Upstate NY!!!!

As much as I love Jet Blue (we fly them all the time into MCO) I think Syracuse is a 3 hour drive from Saranac Lake so thinking either Albany airport and fly Southwest (I think) or drive down day before, visit family and drive out of Westchester White Plains airport to MCO via Jet Blue.
