Any "extra magic" with Magic Bands?

I'm wondering if you have received or have witnessed any "extra magic" while using your magic bands? We're staying off site and I'm weighing out whether it's worth purchasing bands. Other than the convenience of not having to pull out our ticket/card when needed (entry and FP+), what is the benefit to magic bands to an off-siter? One article I read suggested Disney would eventually be showing a little extra magic while in the park to band users. Any word on this?

It is part of the plan to have a few things in the attractions "react" to the MBs.
Those things have not been built and/or activated at this time.

The only thing that IS working are the sensors for the on-ride photos.
They are only on a very few attractions, as yet.

If you purchase the Memory Maker that offers on-ride photos,
you might want to buy at least one MB for your party (and ride together.)

It is a common belief that MM+ has been so problematic and so expensive just to keep operating in the most basic of situations (park entry, FP+) that they have not ventured into attempting to build more extensive interactive features into the attractions. The money has already far exceeded the original budget.
Some say they overspent by TWICE the original budget just to get this far.

We stayed off site and my daughter used her MB from a prior trip. (The rest of ours is temporarily misplaced from a move.)

I didn't notice anything off hand. But when I went to link our photo pass card to MDE, I did notice that rides she rode already had pictures and video (mine train) linked. We didn't do anything extra for this, so my assumption was that it was due to her MB. But maybe someone else knows for certain.

That's what we were told. You don't have to even scan with a magic band to have your ride photos appear.

No "extra magic", but I really liked having it instead of dealing with cards. Especially if you'll use them again in the future, I think it's worth it. We're about to use ours for the second time.

Really only a couple of things.

Some of the limited addition ones make noises when you tap them.

As mentioned above, on rides with photos, wearing the band connects the photos to your Memory Maker.

and once you get home:

If you own the Disney Infinity video game, placing the MB on the base unlocks some additonal content, decorations...Small World theme I think.

I like them for the sake of not having to get a ticket out of my wallet. That's really it.

Yes, I like not having to open up my purse to get out my ticket and fast passes.

Karen :)
