Any Experience With kids Wish Network

I need some advice. My son was granted a wish through the kids wish network 5 months ago. We were supposed to go to Disney World Sept 15 for his wish and unfortunately had to post pone because his illness has prevented us from going now until oct. My first issue is that our wish coordinator had planned the trip without my knowledge as to what hotels, he gave me the name of the hotel we would be staying at and put me in contact with the person issuing our tickets, telling me that I had to make sure the new dates would work. Then tells me I have to pay the difference for the plane tickets in order for them to continue with this trip. Now I feel like I am spending more than we are getting from them 6 people rebooking plane tickets costs over $1200 I believe! Not sure how that is really a wish? I don't mean to sound ungrateful but she booked the tickets without having checked with me or asked me first. Then I am taking a friend along with us and paying her expenses and called the hotel she had told us she had booked to inquire if the dates in oct were available there. She practically handed me my head on a platter and told me that I cannot be calling the sponsors and asking questions as these things are donated and I will be forfeiting our trip if that's the case. This makes NO sense as I was told to call the sponsors for the tickets for the park and plane tickets. I am flabberghasted and infuriated with his wish coordinator. I would think that this organization would want to advertise their generousity but whatever regarding that issue! My issue is that it is ridiculous how I was treated and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or something like it? With MAW which we unfortunately didn't qualify for, if your child needs to post pone due to medical illness and has a doctors note for a legitimate reason, do you have to make up the difference? We are not rich and $1200 is a huge cost for a wish trip. I don't mean to sound petty here. Just wondering others experiences. Thanks.

thanks for those links. I am going to check them out asap. I just don't understand how this will be a wish trip if im paying for most of it now or part of it and their attitude.

does anyone have any personal experience in dealing with this foundation? Having gone on a wish trip with their child? Thanks.

1) Forget about the individual charity.
2) If they are the only ones giving/offering you a trip, live by their rules, and take it.
3) What's more important, the kid's happiness or the charity group?
4) ANY PORT IN A STORM.
