Well, it's further back than my grandfather - his great-something-father James Martin was born in County Down, Northern Ireland 1759 and settled in Alma, New Brunswick before 1787.
He was in the British Army during the Revolution (he was only 18), but stayed after the war and moved to Nova Scotia and then New Brunswick.
I know a lot about the German half of my mom's side and tons about my father's Norwegian side, but nothing about my Irish roots except this.............
