I am an elementary teacher in Michigan and many of my co-workers are just appalled that I own DVC. I used to have a very close friend at work who owned DVC but with her gone I feel like a loner. I carry my DVC bag everyday to school and others in my building always expect something Disney related from me. (and they are never disappointed :lmao:) They think that I am crazy to enjoy vacations that require me to be surrounded by children. I have to say that I really don't notice them at WDW. I attribute it to the child mentality that I have while I am there.

Just wanted to see how many of us there were out there...

Alabama teacher -- for more than 20 years -- checking in here. (Also DVC owner since 1999.) I'm always suspicious of teachers who don't like being around children. ;)

My wife and I are both retired teachers from Texas. I taught 23 yrs in public ed and 18yrs post secondary level for a local college in the federal BOP. My wife taught 15 yrs public and 14 yrs TDCJ. She has been teaching half days as a special ed teacher in the federal BOP system. We've been DVC owners at BWV since 98.

I am a 4th grade teacher in PA. I have coworkers who think I'm nuts too. I just think you shouldn't be a teacher if you've lost your pixie dust! I love watching kids in WDW and I also love that I'm not responsible for them!

I think most of the baby boomers I worked with knew that I owned Disney timeshare. Younger teachers new very little about me or my vacationing habits. You can tell your colleagues that you know of a couple going on their 4th Disney Cruise over Halloween, and they have never once taken children with them.:lmao: That would be me and my lovely wife.

I too am a DVC tote bag teacher. That bag can carry a lot of papers and books.

My principal always chuckles when she asks me where we go on vacation. I know she would love to take her kids there.

I live in NH, but teach in MA. 7 More get-ups!! Heading to our second home at BWV in August! Nothing is more fun to me of seeing a child's face when a Magical Moment happens at Disney!

My DH and I are both teachers here in Kentucky. I teach middle school, and he teaches high school. I don't think anyone at work thinks I'm crazy, but you never know! :confused3

I am a 6th grade teacher in far, far away California. Other teachers chuckle at my Disney decoration in my classroom, my DVC lunch pail and my references. But we are in the best profession to own DVC with all of our time off!!!

In my school district, many of the schools are on a year round schedule and I am fortunate to have June, July, October and February off, thereby taking advantage of the lower point seasons. We LOVE it!! :lovestruc

Best of all, I think even my big 6th graders really love the Disney theme. As I was packing up my room, I decided to take down my plush dolls off the shelf a little early. One of my students sadly asked me where they had all gone. I feel like it brightens up the dreary classroom. They also love my collection of Disney magnets and my coffee mugs.

It would be fun to share some more DVC/WDW/DLR ideas that we use in our classroom!

P/t Math prof at University of Cincinnati! This is exam week.
I always ask my students if anyone else is celebrating a school break in WDW because DH and I would be happy to meet them and take them out for a meal. It's happened and we've enjoyed it as much as our guests have.

another DVC teacher in Metro New York...I love my DVC and I love talking to my HS students about anything Disney or if I have to anything to do with history

I'm an adjunct professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. (I also have a day job.)

I inundate my students with DVC stories. :)

Another Michigan DVC owner here :cheer2: Notice when we're going :woohoo: We will be there for 25 nights - one of the great perks to being a teacher!!

Another DVC crazed teacher! My Kindergarten students know how much I love Disney and so do all the teachers I work with. Anyone with questions come right to me--of course, many do not understand the obsession and still can't believe that I go yearly!!!

Just the other day, we went to write a story about something we love to do in the summer. One of my students raised her hand and said "I bet you are going to write about Disney!!!".

There is one other teacher in the building who loves WDW as much as I do. She is not a DVC member, but at least it gives me someone who understands the excitement!

I am a DVC teacher as well! I teach high school Free Enterprise here in Louisiana. Everyone thinks I am nuts, but I'm the first person they all go to when they need info for a trip.

2 more teachers from NJ!! We go in August every year and love it! At my school, I am the "go to" Disney expert. I've helped plan many trips to WDW....

I am a wannabe teacher in MI (no jobs:sad:) but i think even if i was in a school I would still love my DVC. I would give anything for a teaching job BUT it is really nice to travel in times that school is in session
