I've rented DVC points for our vacation this December. Are there any DVC owner membership benefits that the renter can utilize? Owner wasn't quite sure.

Technically, no. Member benefits are extended to members and their non-compensated guests.

More and more venues are requiring the actual Blue DVC Member card to grant the perks, and not simply a room key that states "DVC MEMBER" That being said, often servers will allow dining Discounts with the room key card only...so it doesn't hurt to ask. You will definitately not be able to get the DVC Annual Pass discount, and there are currently no other theme park admission discounts available to DVC members.

Renters are not entitled to any of the member benefits/perks. Says so in our membership materials.

That said, your room key will probably say "DVC Member" on it. You may be able to get some of the dining discounts (ask the server if the room key is good enough - some will ask for the Bue Membership card). You may also be able to get the free valet parking at the DVC resorts that offer it (BCV, BWV & VWL), and you'll probably be able to pool hop (may not want to in December, though, LOL). AFAIK, your resort ID with "DVC Member" will suffice for those.

There are no major park admission discounts available to you. DVC members do get some small discounts on admission to the waterparks & PI - you may be able to get those. It would be up to the discretion of the CM at the resort. Can't think of any others you may get.

The best benefit is staying in the DVC accomodations for a discount over what you'd pay to rent from Disney directly.

Best wishes-

Thanks for the responses. Is the dining discount a flat % at every WDW restaurant (incl CRT)? Does it work at snack stands too?

No - it's only for certain restaurants (CRT isn't included) and usually only for lunch at the WDW restuarants (some also for dinner). Believe it's 10% for most WDW restaurants, but some are 20%. Some of these are only good weekdays.

Most of the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin are included, the discount is 20% and I think it is good for all meals.

IIRC, no snack stands/counter service places are included anywhere. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the discount, anywhere, either.

You'll probably get a list when you check in. In the meantime, you can see more info here.

Best wishes -

When we ate at the Swan or Dolphin restaurants they asked for our blue DVC card to get the discount.
