Any downside to booking on-line?

I have always booked my ressies on the phone, but this next trip I'll be doing a package, and I've been using the WDW website to price things out. Any reason to not book online? And if I make periodic payments on my package, do I only do them online if I booked online?

We book online, it is so easy, plus as you make payments online, you can view your balance. :cool1:

We have AP's and booked on line with the BRP discount. When we tried to pay off the balance we could not. We have to pay when we get there. I hate this because we always like to have everything paied off before we go.

I just called this morning to book our trip. I would have preferred to book online (I do everything on the computer, even grocery shop) but couldn't as we are planning a 12 day trip and the online reservations maxed out at 10 days.

But the CM on the phone was really nice and thorough, and I used the 800 number so wasn't worried about the phone bill. I would still like to see it in type on my computer screen to make sure everything's right. I'm assuming I will be able to go to the website and type in my confirmation number and have the info pop up for me sometime in the next day or two.

Good luck with it!

I agree with you about this. I put the balance in an envelope and sealed it and tucked it into the carryon that I'll take on my flight, along with my reservation number. That way, I won't have to worry about it...just pull that envelope out of my bag, show my ID (and my AP) and I'm good to check in!

I also agree. Not being able to pay off the balance is the only thing I really hate about the BRP. I'm going to use my Disney VISA to buy Disney dollars at the Disney Store (to get the points), then pay off the VISA a few days later as soon as it's posted on the Chase site. I like the idea about then putting the room balance in its' own sealed envelope on the carry on.

I did my upcoming trip all online. I didn't have any problems. I paid for it and have checked and everything.

The only problem was when I tried to take advantage of last month's code for a possibly cheaper stay. I was told that since I booked online, I couldn't change my reservation.

I don't know if that had to do with the fact that I also had airline reservations that would have changed or not, but I thought that was a little strange to be stuck with what you did in Jan/Mar just because you booked online.

I'd check into the policies about changing in the future just to clarify and just in case you get a good deal that comes up and want to take advantage of it.

Hmm, i wonder if that's why i can't get the AAA discount!!??

I also booked on line, then called to request the AAA discount ~ three times ~ and each time i've been told it's not available.

According to other threads here on the DIS, i know it is.

Advice? Do i cancel and re-book? Don't they realize this will discourage people from booking on line?

ANY advice about getting the AAA will be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

I don't understand that at all! I booked my package on-line over a year ago and I was able to get the discount. In fact, my package was so old it was actually a dream-maker package. They still applied the discount. Then two days later we decided to stay an extra day and actually had them change the package over to MYW and add the dining using the code. There was no problem, no change fee, and no problems with applying the money I had already spent - I just had to pay a small difference for the addition of dining. The CRO's I talked to on each occasion were very nice and my airfare was not affected by any of this. Maybe you got a bad CRO. I advise calling back because the first time I called I admit I had someone tell me there were no discounts out there and he couldn't apply them. I called at 8:00 a.m. the daythe discounts were posted and I knew about them before CRO did! :goodvibes
