Any DLR deals expected in October???

My family is planning our first trip to DLR this October (3rd week). I have a couple of questions for the DLR experts (more will surely follow)??

1. Are their any DLR deals that run in October?
2. Any recommendations on Good Neighbor hotels (prefer: clean room; close to entrance; continental breakfast; good price)
3. What's the best (and most economical) way to get from DLR to LAX when we are ready to leave?

We were there last October, stayed at HOJO's but it does not have breakfast. Weekends will be crowded because of the halloween stuff. If you like Halloween get tickets to Mickey's Halloween Treat, it is a fun evening at Cal adventure. Weather was warm.

for transportation, lots of people like supershuttle.

I can't remember any special deals, although it was a cheaper time of year to go.

We went last October. We originally had a room booked at HOJO's, but then Disney released their fourth night free promo. We ended up being able to stay at Paradise Pier for only $60 more than the HOJO (6 night trip). It was well worth it IMO. They released that offer in August if I remember right.

As far as transportation. We take the Disneyland Express Shuttle from LAX. This is the one that Disney books for their packages. However, you do not need to reserve it, just find the platform outside the baggage areas at LAX (details on times are on their website). It will drop you off at your hotel, and they have a $3 off coupon on their website. I think it ends up being $25 roundtrip after the discount for an adult - kids are cheaper.

Most years in the fall into December (not close to Christmas however) they have run the "stay four nights get one night free" promo at the offsite hotels. Like disneydreamebelle, my family got this promotion for Paradise Pier (this was in 05) and it ended up being cheaper than where we had originally planned to stay offsite (the Sheraton). So that is a great deal and can really save you some money. No idea if they will offer that this fall or not. As far as offsite motels, close with a free breakfast I have stayed at the Tropicana and the Camelot. Both were nice and clean and really close. They had free but very minimal Continental breakfasts but it was enough to get your day going. I liked the Tropicana in particular. The closest to Disneyland is the Best Western Park Place Inn, I haven't stayed there yet (will remedy that in June) but I have heard great things about it. You cannot get any closer and from the looks of it their free breakfast is a bit more than the other two. The Candy Cane definitely gets the hghest reviews, its about a 10-15 minute walk but it does have its own shuttle. It has the best of the free breakfasts and just looks really charming and nice. I have never heard a bad thing about it. There are lots of others near to DL that get great reviews. We did stay at the Hojo as well, lovely property, nice big rooms but its a bit further to walk and no free breakfast. But it is very nice and the nice grounds and two very nice pool areas are worth it to many to give up the free breakfast and shorter walk. Good luck with your decision, October is a great time to go. Weekends are definitely crowded and the Halloween festivities have gotten very popular. Have fun with your planning!

Oh and Super Shuttle works pretty well. Or if you have a larger group of people a cab or a private shuttle like Golden West Express can actually be a bit cheaper. www.goldenwestexpress.com It was great for our party of six but if you have just two or three people it would be more than Super Shuttle or one of those. But it was nice that they picked us right and up and then came and got us at the prearranged time. I believe it was $75 each way plus tip. But that was two years ago, it may be a bit more now.
