Any discounts using Disney Rewards?

I'm always on the lookout for great hotel rates. We are going in Sept/Oct and plan on using the Disney Rewards earned on our Disney Visa. I may not have enough credit to stay every night on site, but "free" rewards bucks are an attractive option. Does that mean I'm going to have to pay rack rate?

Can I stay at the Swan or the Dolphin using my teacher's discount and pay with Rewards? Get the AAA discount at a moderate and then pay with Rewards?

Will my Rewards credit be good for all the "extras" that get added on to a Florida hotel room like their special taxes?

Any recommendations on a choice of a moderate? (We will be 3 adults: myself, DD (21) and her girl friend (21).

It won't work at the Swan/Dolphin..but will work at the other resorts.

When we went last month we had about 1800 reward points. We just used it to pay for our food and souveniers most places. We stayed at Shades of Green, so we weren't able to use it for the room (Staying at GF this time and while we won't have that many points this time, we'll still have a couple hundred)

You can use any discount available to the public or to Disney Visa holders. It basically works like a credit/gift card and we never had any problem using it.

Basically anything you would use a credit/gift card for at any Disney place..you can use the rewards card. You can even use it to pay towards a package.
