We are not sailing until February, but we have the money set aside now to pay for the cruise. Is there any disadvantage to paying in full now?

Thanks!
Denise

Denise, Some people might give you an economics lesson on letting you money earn interest for you, I know this is all well and good, I work in a bank for goodness sakes, but my cruise is paid off and I don't go for 15 mos. I just call it peace of mind, that way we don't dip into it for Christmas money, or schedule a smaller trip in between now and then!!!

My family and I cruise at the end of Jan 05 and I have had my trip paid off for 2 weeks now. It is great to know that it is paid for and nothing can change that! Now we just wait for the new year!

I thought one disadvantage is -- if your cruise is paid in full you can't take advantage of any drops in prices up to the full payment due date (though it appears that Disney, unlike other cruise lines, rarely has price drops).

Yes, there is a disadvantage to paying early. You lose the interest on the funds. Maybe its not much, but isn't that better in your pocket than in DCL's?
