I finally ventured over to the Podcast Board because I saw that there was a review of the Cape May Cafe. (we are not buffet people, but we LOVE seafood, so we're adding it to our trip next month).

After 30 minutes of chit-chat, they still hadn't got to the review and I needed to get laundry out of the dryer. I paused it and when I came back it started from the beginning. What did I do wrong?!

Are all of their podcasts like this? I have never listened, so I don't know these people yet (don't get me wrong, there were some funny bits!) But it took so long to get to the topic!

holy moly! an hour and 20 minutes into it and they finally get to the Cape May Cafe review. ('bout time!)

OK - so my ? is: can ya skip around in these podcasts?

There is a sticky in the podcast board that "I think" goes through the episodes and includes details of where things are discussed.

But yes, waiting an hour is not unusual to get to the reviews as time has to be allowed for the rest of their speil, news, and especially Pete Werner rant (love him). A good Pete rant will take 20 mins in itself, especially if the topic is : * Meg Crofton (WDW President)
* The mayor of Orlando and how they spend revenue from tourism
* The designers and marketers of Harry Potter at Universal who did not realise it was going to get crowds and did not do anything to prepare for it. Also a good one was that the Forbidden Journey will not allow 20% of guests to ride it.

They would be the better ones, but the podcast followers can feel free to add more. There is lots of useful information in the podcast but do not think you will only get informercials for Disney - these guys have fun with each other and the rest of us are priveleged to listen in.

I guess your perspective that is a bad thing, but from those of use who listen to the show religiously that is a good thing. I Love listening to the banter and jokes and everything about the show. Honestly i could listen to a show without even having a major topic in it, i just like listening to them talk about Disney. I have listened to many other podcasts about Disney, and none really compare to this one, they really have a great chemistry between all of them. But when they do review a hotel or restaurant they do a GREAT job of it, they keep an open mind going into it and give honest feedback, good or bad. I cant wait until one day we get a 3 hour show !! although i think the podcast team might disagree ! haha

The shows have several different components so it's not going to be just about one subject. There's news, the rapid fire, reviews, etc.

So glad I opened this thread! I'm (for the first time!) listening to the podcast and love it!!!!

no-no - not a bad thing, just unexpected. All my years on the DISBoards & I had never listened to a Podcast! I was surprised at the length, and had no idea that they "chit-chatted". Parts were funny (they had a bit about tu-tus that was hilarious!) but I was anxious to get to the retaurant review. Plus, I don't know what I did to make it start over from the beginning when I paused at the 30 minute mark.

Funny how one of the reviewers liked Cape May and the other guy didn't. Just reaffirms my opinion that you'll find good & bad reviews of nearly every restaurant. It's when you can't find any good reviews that you should stay away!

There's a control bar you can use to move to different points in the podcast, like a "fast forward" button. It's easier to control this when you listen through iTunes than when you listen through the "listen now" button, but it works either way. :)
