I moved here about six months ago- just got back from Disney and having withdrawls...wondering if there are any other huge Disney fans in the area? The friends I have made here really don't appreciate my obsession :lmao:

I'm not in Sarnia but I have to cross there when I'm on my way to Disney :) I'm in Kincardine.

At least you aren't too far from a Disney store! I love the one at Great Lakes Crossing. I stopped there before my trip a couple of weeks ago to get cheap souvies to bring back for the kids!

I live about 25 mins from Sarnia and we at Disney Sept.19-25th. I also met someone from Sarnia while my dh & son's were on Soarin' :)

I'm just outside Sarnia! Wow - small world to actually meet someone from where you are from at WDW let alone on a message board! I haven't been for a to WDW for few years. We tried out Universal a few years ago, last year was Cuba, this year is a cruise. Maybe next year it will be WDW again.

It is so good to know there are people around who share the same  for Disney

I have seen at least one other person on here who is from Sarnia, so there must be a few of us. I haven't been on here much since we haven't any plans in the near future to go but I'm thinking I would love to soon go back. My DH and DS (who is only 9!!) aren't into WDW as much as myself and DD (19). Don't know what happened to DS - he's not even into the Disney villains :sad2:

I am from Sarnia :D Not quite bitten by the disney bug yet, but SUPER excited to go and in crazy planning mode....lol I say I haven't been bitten by the bug, but I am already mentally planning our 2012 trip before my oldest turns 10 :D

Awesome to know there are more of us out there!

also wanted to add, WELCOME TO THE AREA!

Not in Sarnia, but not too far away. We are in London and mildly Disney obsessed :)

We're fromthe other side of London and really Disney obsessed! We go through Sarnia on our way to the Soo!

So funny to see this post! And here all my friends and coworkers laugh at me for being so obsessed - I thought I was the only one!

Welcome to Sarnia stacopp! It's been my home off and on since 1984. Couldn't wait to get out of here when I was 16 - now it's the perfect place to raise my family. Ahhh, how priorities change.

Where did you move from?

It wasn't perhaps a couple with twin boys was it? I happen to know a family that was there right at that time. Such a small world. Last time we went, we bumped into my colleague's family several times as we were there the same week.

I'm not from Sarnia, but my Grandma lives there!!! I love Disney sooo much and most people just roll their eyes at me. I don't care though!

It is sooo nice to meet you all!!
I am originally from Nova Scotia. My family loves the area! You have all helped me feel a little less alone and THANK you for that!!

I from Corunna which it pretty much Sarnia. I've been to the world three times in 16 months, so I'm pretty much obsessed. Went September 23-29 and thinking about going back next September. Welcome to the area. I feel the same way with my friends and family except my Dad. At least the hubby doesn't say no.

She may have. They were a large family. I believe she had 6 kids and was pregnant with her 7th? Very nice lady.

We had friends that were there at the same time as us as well. We met up with them for lunch at Hollywood Studios

I am actually right in between London & Sarnia :)

I am headed to London tomorrow to see my homeopathic Dr. and do a little shopping :)

Living in London we have driven through Sarnia many many times to go over the border to shop, have dinner, you name it. We have spent many many hours on that darn bridge. This past year we finally caved and got Nexus cards, best thing we ever did!!!!!!

Do most of you fly out of Detroit when going to WDW?

LOVE Nexus - I would tell everyone to get it - but then the lines will get longer!!! For $50 for 5 years, and the kids are free, totally beats sitting in line for hours!

We flew out of Detroit both times that we went to WDW, and will do so again this year and next. I prefer to fly Delta - if you are patient and check often you can get good prices (about $200 total each return) for really good times. WE like the early flight so we can spend half a day at the park, then come home in the early evening so we get another half day and aren't home too late.

I would like to make a plug for the Westin at the Detroit Airport here. We stayed there last year and are doing it again - $99 to stay and park our car (valet and in a covered lot!) for up to 10 days. Beautiful hotel, and you gotta love waking up and walking 100 feet to the security check point! No shuttles to deal with when you get home either - call them when you're picking up your luggage and your car will be waiting and warm!!!

BTW - I think it's hilarious that a thread about Sarnia has reached two pages and is sticking around! :rotfl:

Our last four trips down we flew NWA/Delta but this upcoming trip in January their prices were out of the ballpark. This will be our first Air Tran flight. I was tempted to try out Spirit b/c they offer great deals but the times were not great and I have heard too many horror stories about that airline. When I am travelling with my two kids, I don't want to run into problems if I can avoid them *fingers crossed*
