Any differences with flying with bigger planes?

The weather was just about 15-20 minutes of rough air. On and off. My husband was on a flight that he thought was going to crash. Luggage falling out of the overhead and all. It was a flight that Delta should not have flown, they knew it was going to be bad. Every flight after that one was cancelled.

In all honesty, I have never seen a flight cancelled for turbulence. I won’t say it’s never happened, but it would be extremely rare.

The other thing about landings is that it doesn't have to be a big event to cause a rough touchdown. The pilot is easing the landing gear toward the runway almost inch by inch, and all of a sudden a gust lifts the plane up a few feet and then back down. Bam! Rough landing.

But it's not an aircraft problem.

Hey... I have some I think are going to wax on, yet BANG. I have others that I expect to bang, but wax.

I haven't either, and I've done a good bit of flying. Usually they're able to either fly around weather or kind of weave their way through it.

Of course I have seen airports closed temporarily because of bad weather. I've had a few flights re-routed or delayed due to bad weather at the destination or connecting airport. One time I had to spend another night in a hotel in Madison, WI because O'Hare (my connecting airport) was closed so long my crew timed out.
