Any decent rental car price for Dec. 22-29? HELP!!

We are going to WDW from the 22nd to the 29th. Rental car is needed for those 7 days. All I can get is a price over 400 dollars for the week, at best! (LM) Can anyone help with something better. I have never paid so much for a weekly rental. I'm going nuts about this. Marla

However, you are renting during a holiday week when availability is very tight. I wouldn't expect too much.

What size vehicle are you trying to rent? If you go to http://www.go2orlando.com you can get a free upgrade coupon for L&M. You have to register on the site to get the coupon. Also the coupon says subject to availability but I've never had trouble getting the upgrade. I tell them when making the reservation that I will be using the coupon.

The site mentioned gave me a quote for the timeframe of 12/23 to 12/28 that was less than anything else I could find WITHOUT insurance, even tho' it includes ALL insurance! The insurance is not optional, but if it's cheaper, I'll take it. We haven't decided whether to book through them as I am still trying Priceline, but I'm going to do it if nothing else comes up.

Almost all the Dollar and National codes black out starting 12/15.

I got a midsize from the National starting 12/17 for 7 days for under $200 by using the DC code and the Vaction Store coupon on Marys site. www.mousesavers. com

I also have tried priceline with no success, but I have seen better rates for my period on Hotwire then what you are getting so you might try there.

We are travelling in the peak season. I booked with National using the ent $15 coupon and the Disney club discount. For a five day rental (12/27 to 1/1) we got a quote of $203.39 using Emerald Aisle. I am still trying to find something cheaper if I could.
I booked this back in July for a December rental.
