Silly question I know, but I potentially have a big dilema.
I booked our August Trip last September and we are taking my younger brother for his 16th. Well wind forward 6 months and we have decided to change our DD6 to a different school. If she gets into her new school I have just realised that they go back on 2nd September not the 7th as her current school does. We are due to fly home on the 2nd.
Although I don't mind taking her out around the holidays, I have always said I would never do so at the beginning of the school year. Let alone a new school. Her current school is quite happy to sign of up to 10 days aslong as you avoid certain dates. The new school won't entertain it, I don't even want to ask.
So yesterday I was frantically looking to move forward a day but with Virgin the difference in price is around £2k. I think we got a great deal when booking last year £5300 for 5 for 10 nights at GF with tickets and FD. I could change our holiday with Virgin to totally different dates next year and book indepenantly for this August but as expected the flight prices are a problem. I've even looked at going a day earlier and flying into Miami. Which we would probably prefer anyway.
I can get indirect US Air flights for around £1,600 but I am a very nervous flyer and don't know how I would do with the 2 flights and would spend the whole time worrying what sort of plane the internal flight would be. Anything to small and I would flat refuse to get on it.
I could come home a day early but I was have trouble fitting everything into the 10 days let alone losing one.
I jus don't know what the right thing to do is
