Any Dead Zone fans here ?

Here's a simple yes, no question based on the premise from Dead Zone.

For people that do not see the show or missed the movie years ago, the main character (Johnny Smith) has the ability/curse of seeing glimpses of the future
of people he comes into physical contact with, like in a handshake.

In the orginal movie Smith shakes hands with a person that is running for President.

During the "vision" Smith sees the person has become President and is launching nuclear weapons.

It gets quite involved after that point but the question is,
if you had Smith's ability and shook hands with the person you were going to vote for for president and you saw that they were going to launch/use nuclear weapons after they were elected would you still vote for them ?

That's it, no additional info.
You know for sure that if this person becomes president atomic weapons will be used for a third time on planet Earth.
You don't get to interfer or influence the outcome except with your vote.
It's a simple yes or no.
Would you still vote the for person.

I don't think it is a simple yes or no.

What were they using the nukes for? Were they using them to destroy a terrorist compound? Had they evac'd the area surrounding it? Was there some sort of other worldly invasion from Mars? Remember 10.5? Nukes were used to fuse fault lines and it saved thousands of people.

Or were they just using them for kicks?

Without being able to see what the person was using them for, I could not give a yes or no answer. That being said, I'd probably have to say yes, since we're supposing I was planning to vote for this person anyway, I probably agree with his or her ideas and principles, and would have to presume the nukes were being used for a reason I'd agree with.

No one is PRO war. But sometimes it is an ugly last resort to problems that require immediate action (ie. terrorists who are fanatical and not willing to listen to reason).

But that's not the point and this is not a debate.

You have certain knowledge that if the person you had orginally intended to vote for is president after the election they will use nuclear weapons.

Do you still vote for them. yes or no

Normally your response would have not generated a reply but with the recent developments here at the DIS, it seemed like a good idea to dismiss, reject and make clear that this thread is no way meant to be a debate. A simple yes or no is all that is requested, musings are fine but not without giving your answer to the orginal question somewhere along the way.
