I have a question. Siding is sold at Home Depot and Lowes by the box. In the box in 2 squares. What is the formula to figure out what a square is, and how many one would need for their project?
I would think you would start by measuring the sides of the house where you want the siding and go from there.
I know that you would multiply the length X the width to figure out the square footage you would need.
There should be a guide sheet there somewhere in that area at Home Depot or Lowes that could walk you through the procedure.
it is sold by the square though....not square foot.....one box is 24 - 10 ft pieces and that is 2 square. The paper at home depot doesn't give the formula for a square...I have that in front of me. and I tried the website....
He was just asking about 8 or 9 inch because that depicts the heigth of the siding and that one inch can really make a difference when your talking x number of feet high on a wall.
