I recently emailed Disney the following:
Hi! I have two questions - first, are there any discounts available in the park (food, merchandise, etc.) for active duty military members? We're aware of, and will be staying at, the Shades of Green, but are trying to budget for our expenses.
My second question: We will be visiting WDW from June 3-8. The following week my husband will be departing for a one-year tour of duty overseas in Korea and possibly Iraq. This will be a very special family trip, with our daughter, my mom, my in-laws and their young son (my husband's youngest brother). Whether this is even possible, I have no idea, but I was wondering whether there was a way that my husband could participate in the Flag Retreat Ceremony one day while we're there. As an Air Force family (his father served also), we are all fiercely patriotic, with a deep love for our flag.
As I stated before, I understand if this is simply impossible, and plan to have a magical trip, regardless (hopefully without dwelling too much on the next year).
Thank you so much for your consideration!
Well, I received this response:

What is this reply?!! I didn't ask about Animal Kingdom or meal vouchers, and I could care less whether I can get a turkey leg! And I'm not sure what's up for me contacting the "Walt Disney World. Resort." I'm thinking perhaps I received a form email, and she accidentally clicked the wrong form or something. If my request can't be met, that's fine, I'd just like to know that someone at least viewed it. I just submitted the request using the main customer contact form at http://www.disneyworld.com.
Any advice is GREATLY appreciated
