What is the deal with Continental out of Cle to MCO? I'm having a terrible time finding good airfare for Sept/Oct (flexible dates). I found 909.00 for our family of 5 out of PIT but my husband only wants to fly out of Cle. Any one with any infor or suggestions? Thanks.

I had a really hard time finding reasonable prices out of Cleveland. I even had a hard time finding good fares out of Akron/Canton. :confused3 We ended up getting a flight out of Detroit on Spirit for our trip in July for $133 RT. It was the cheapest I could find. My inlaws live in Toledo, so we will drive there, drop off the dog, and my FIL will drive us to Detroit. It's only about 30-40 minutes from Toledo the airport in Detroit. That's the best I could find. And it's a non stop flight which makes it even better. :goodvibes

If you haven't already, sign up on Southwest's site for their DING airfares. I get them throughout the day and they're DIRT cheap!!

There is a charter / public service out of Cleveland called USA 3000. I have a non-stop roundtrip flight in October for $148. So far I have heard no negitive responses about this airline. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Another option is to fly from Cleveland into Tampa (TPA). We generally have better luck with the fares through Tampa. It is about an hour and fifteen minute drive into the resort.

Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. I keep checking Continental several times a day but it won't budge from the 306.00.

USA 3000 only flys 3 days a week out of most airports, and only 1-2 flights a day.

I booked US AIR for x-mas week (24-31) with good days and times non-stop for $260 last week. It may be a little high but at least their are other flights in case of mechanical or weather related problems.

Continental prices are a JOKE. I was watching them for months and they only go UP in price. :sad2:

Cleveland is a hub (or, at least a mini-hub) for CO. In such situations, the dominant airline often does not need to lower prices unless they have direct (not connecting) competition on the route. NWA used to own the DTW/MCO route until Spirit started flying there, but now they can be quite reasonable.

Just booked Airtran out of CAK for $202.40 through Disney. This is cheaper than even Airtran would offer if I called them as one of our travel days is a Friday.
