One of my first jobs was at the original shop on 6A in Yarmouthport. Many of the people I worked with there are still with the company. It was (is) a great place to shop and work!

LOVE that store.

I remember "finding" it on our first trip to the Cape in 1998. The store in Hyannis just blew me away.

I used to drive from NJ to the nearest store in Orange, CT a couple of times a year (about 2 hours). Then they opened one in Danbury and I'd go there. Then last year they opened one in Spring Valley, NY (which is right over the NJ border). Unfortunately I don't like that one as much. Seems the one I've been to in New England (and I've been to 2 in CT and ALL of the ones on the Cape) are better (home-y-er???). Love spending a weekend at the Cape and hitting the ones in Falmouth, Hyannis, West Dennis, Yarthmouth, and Orleans (I know I'm forgetting 2). Each one would have something a little different.

And yes, I just LOVE a bargain!

Just walked in from the shrewsbury one!!

I'm going this weekend. I try to get there a couple of times a season just to see everything new. There are so many of them here on the Cape!

Some are definitely better than others. I was never impressed by the one in Shrewsbury, MA. The one at the bridge on the Cape (in Bourne I think) is pretty good. The Hyannis one is better. The nearest one to me for a long time was in Shrewsbury, then they opened one in Salem,NH... about an hour or so from me. I went about once every other month and the place was always a MOB SCENE.... and forget even getting near it from about Thanksgiving through January! THen they opened one in Nashua.... still about an hour from me, but doesn't always seem to be as mobbed as the Salem one.

When I started shopping at CT Shops back in the late 1980's I would go MAD and CRAZY and buy way more than I should. I never knew if I would find the item again. But I now know what kinds of stuff they have all the time, so I don't go quite so crazy. I can come out of there these days and spend under $25.... used to be over $100 every time I walked in the doors. That said, I do love the place and hubby will tease me with the flyers he gets in the paper...."Honey, I got a present for yoooou!" and he hands me the flyer...................:p P

Me......Me........Me..........I was in the one in Natick, MA around Easter when visiting my relatives in Natick and Framingham. And we visited one a few years ago, by a bridge going to the Cape (Bourne?)........and got hooked. It is a must do when in the area. Wish there were some in NJ though.:(

We're always running there for school events and fundraisers. Where else can you get adorable boxes and tissue paper so cheap? They'll let you order multiples too.

Last year for our holiday fair we got a couple hundred of the mugs (.99 each), filled them with candy, wrapped them in plastic and sold them for a couple of dollars each.

Great place and now they carry Waverly fabrics/pillows. Nice.

My very favorite store.....lol I am easy to please.

I like the one in MA (Attleboro) better than RI (Warwick) those are the closest to me.....although I didn't know there was one in Newport will have to check that out.

DH hates going there, and absolutely refuses to go if its a Saturday....

I actually think that the Christmas Tree Shops were much better years ago. When they first opened here on the Cape they carried a great deal of "name brand" merchandise. You could really get some fantastic bargains. As they grew and grew and expanded to other states the quality of the merchandise diminished. I find that the majority of the merchadise that they now carry is manufactured for them overseas. They have very few of the "name brand" bargains. I personally hardly ever go in anymore.

Did you all know that the Christmas Tree shops were sold. Yes the original owners...The Bilezikian family sold to the New Jersey business "Bed Bath and Beyond for a cool $200 million in June of 2003! But I guess they are still involved in some way.
Here's a link to old news: http://www.turnto10.com/news/2282654/detail.html

I live literally 5-10 minutes away and my DD works in the Candy store in the Hyannis Christmas Tree plaza.....It was dangerous going to pick her up from work before she got her license and a car!!! I would go there 3-4 times a week!!! Yikes! They only thing I hate about going there...is you go in for ONE thing and come out with 5 bags totaling $60.00!!!;)
