Any choice of site when arriving early?

While we were happy enough with our site assignment, we particularly noted a few sites which we would not have liked. (Don't get me wrong, would be fine for many other campers, but not for our unit and situation.) I also worry a teensy bit that the person doing the assigment may not be fully aware of those of us with long tow vehicles, long TT's, awnings, etc.

We hope to arrive by 10:00 a.m. If our site is not available, will they tell us the number at that time? At whatever point we arrive is there any real chance of checking out the site and getting a change if we have concerns about the one assigned, or would they tell us what sites are still available if not fully booked?

I don't want to be a big pain, and know how accommodating Disney usually is, but wanted some idea of what is asking too much or what they are used to doing in reassigning sites. Thanks for any input!

If you get to your assigned site and you are not happy with it, I know that you can go to the comfort station and call the front desk and ask to be changed. If you see another site empty that you like you can ask for that one. I don't know if you could do that before check in time though.

If you get there before your site is ready they will NOT tell you the site number. This happened to us last year and so we were given a number to call and check when the site was ready. I was offered another site that was ready but chose to wait for the assigned spot because they assured me it met my criteria, but they just couldn't tell me which site it was.

They have their reasons, but this year I am going to come prepared so that I can just park the camper in the lot and go swimming until my spot is ready!!

Of the 7 years we've been there, last year was the first time I can recall that we had to wait that long for our site - I think it was empty the whole time, but just hadn't been "cleaned and released" by mousekeeping.

Last time we went to FW, we experienced somethng different. We acutally talked to 'site asignment'. Never did that before.

We asked for a site, and the nice young fellow said 'sorry, no go'. We asked for the site next to it and he said 'ok'.

You can try if you have a site in mind.

Remember, they have a big book that shows all the sites and gives the specs. Look at that before you leave check in and see if that site looks OK. Better then than later when you drive back and realize your in trouble with backing in or whatever.
