Any changes to DVC mousekeeping?

I expect that without daily housekeeping, the rooms get pretty messy and need longer to clean between guests.
DVC does not do daily cleaning - just fresh towels etc on day 4 and then full clean on day 7…

Except there is more than one post stating they weren't getting scheduled services. If they were then it wouldn't matter if they were doing it with 1 housekeeper or 10 but if the service isn't happening then there's an issue.
Nobody is being denied schedule services though, and there is no indication cleanings are being systematically skipped. I do agree mistakes have been happening but the trend is more toward inconsistency than consistent reduction in services—for example other reports have indicated getting extra services. A call to the front desk can resolve an omission.

There’s also confirmation bias at play. People who had a bad housekeeping experience are more likely to respond to a housekeeping thread than people who had a totally normal experience. We did not have any issues on our three dvc stays this past year.

Just like if you post a thread asking if food quality at DVC resort restaurants has declined, I’m sure plenty of people will post rants about awful meals, and omit descriptions of the perfectly normal meals they ate too.

I was referring to cash rooms, which did get daily housekeeping and now does not. As I noted in other posts, the 4/8 cleanings for points rooms have not changed, so it is really only the cash side where the staff have fewer duties. Any any reductions there are likely offset by the increased time it takes to turn around those rooms.

Ah - got it - thanks for clarifying

We were told at Hilton Head they were not allowed to come in and do towels and bedding. But said they would supply linens as needed. So the only service they gave was trash service. This was stated by the front desk when we called and asked. We also had to hand the person the dirty towels and linens outside of our rooms. The person was not allowed to enter the room.

In April, we stayed 5 nights at OKW 2 bedroom and someone came (we never saw them) to remove the trash in the kitchen daily. All of our trash may have been removed on day 4, but I can't remember and I don't think so, and we definitely didn't get new towels.

Just remembered when we stayed in OKW there were little signs saying if you wanted fresh towels to leave them on the floor on your housekeeping day, and to hang up towels if you wanted to reuse them for “eco-friendly” purposes. I know it’s really cost cutting rather than environmentally conscious, but I do recall seeing that. Wonder if some of the people not getting towels are because they are hung up on the hooks or shower doors

That could be. We are pretty good about reusing our towels but I can't remember now where I put the used washclothes or if I remember whether the shower towel (that I step on when I get out) was gone on the 4th day...

my daughter is at HH right now. She has an 8 night reservation so was entitled to a full cleaning and T&T. She checked in on Saturday so I reminded her that the FC should be Tuesday. I checked with her this morning and she confirmed she did get a FC on Tuesday. her T&T will be tomorrow (Saturday).

We were at the BLT 6/1 to 6/8. Someone came to get the trash everyday but we didn't get the 4th day service.

No towel service, no shampoo replenishment, no toilet paper. We bring extra shampoo and toilet paper for this reason.

Then again, when we checked in, there was hair and dust all over the cabinets and table. Plus a nice half eaten candy bar in the pantry.
Wait we have to supply our own toilet paper?

Just checking, does Mousekeeping replenish:

Toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner & soap?

Toilet paper, tissue & paper towels?

Will there be a cart in the hallway to ask Mousekeeping, if we need more?

Pre-covid, we had stays where toiletries were replaced along with towels and toilet paper on 4th day. On other stays just towels and toilet on 4th day.

Just got back from OKW. Trash check the first day, but nothing after that. No trash/towel service on day 4. We're fine with this. Prefer to not have people in and out of the villa.

Enforcement of standards can be difficult, especially when low on staffing. Speaking only for HHI (though it's supposed to be the same across all resorts), if you are due a change out of linens/bedding, it can't be done with guests in the room, period. Same with trash service or T&T. Per Disney stipulations, guests should be out of the room in some manner, either away, or out on the balcony, or even stepping outside while the service is completed. So, yes, CMs are not allowed to come into the room--if you occupy said room--to grab your dirty towels or trash.

As for replenishment of items, simply call the front desk and request the items...which includes TP. pirate:

They replenished everything for us but that was November and mid-May. In May, we had 6 people in a 2 bedroom and we needed shampoo, conditioner, and body wash before day 4; we just asked the front desk.

Last week at Copper Creek. Checked in Saturday. Our towels were switched out on Tuesday. Trash was picked up every day. So what we expected.

What annoyed me was they have removed the brooms and vacuums from the units. We eat breakfast everyday in our room so we get quite a few crumbs. It was DISGUSTING after a few days. I thought they would quickly sweep up the crumbs Tuesday in the kitchen area, but nope. I called down twice for a broom but none was ever set up. I don't really get why they removed those from the rooms. We have used them often pre-Covid as crumbs happen and we don't live like that at home :crazy2:
