Any chance of a Summer 2013 discount?

Planning our June/July 2013 DL trip... We've stayed offsite on a few previous trips, but my heart is at PPH! Any predictions on whether discounts will be offered next summer? From what I could find online, it looks they have offered them in the past, but not in summer 2012. I'm assuming that was due to the Cars Land opening, so hopefully they'll get back to discounting next summer... Thoughts?

Well we can hope for summer 2013 discounts. I think it is just too hard to predict at this point. The Disney corp probably looks at several factors in determining whether they need to offer promos or discounts to meet their attendance/occupancy targets. New attractions and entertainment offerings are a big factor for sure (and next year they will have the new princess fantasy faire thing to promote), but I bet they are also looking at the overall economy and consumer spending on travel and leisure. Right now I've seen a few trend articles on how the hotel business is robust again (maybe it is just in the SF Bay Area - don't know) after years of trying to recover from the downturn in 2008. But hard to know what the economy will be like next summer.

Tinytinkmom, we're with you! Just hoping for some summer 2013 discounts.

DL was my original home park, but we moved to the east coast when I was still in elementary school and I became a WDW vet. We visit Newport Beach annually, so we sometimes do day trips from Newport. But if we're going for more than one day, it's going to be a DL resort - as WDW vets, the "Disney Bubble" is a huge factor for us. We stayed at GCH in 2010 with an AP discount (I was a Premier Passholder at the time - both WDW and DL.) But with the new cost of the Premier, we're not going to upgrade our WDW APs and will have to rely on general public discounts. Right now, our dates in August 2013 are pricing at approx. $300/night for PPH, $400/night for DLH and $500 for GCH. If no discount, we'll go with PPH, but it would be great to be back at GCH.

I'd love to hear any and all rumors, speculation or news regarding late August 2013 discounts!

I'm just looking forward to the same 2012 ticket discounts being brought back for 2013. The ones valid from January 4th, 2012 to May 28th, 2012.
