Any Canadians with San Diego experience?

Hi I posted this on Southern Calif board on DIS too but would love a Canadian perspective.

We are 8 (two families) and had such a great time with an Orlando 2007 vacation home thought a San Diego trip would be good too. This would be Christmas 2008.

I have searched VRBO.com and there are places for rent and wow, they really go up in $ at Christmas. That's ok as there are two families.

Any thoughts, experience etc? We do love cooking ourselves etc but just love warmer weather.

We used to live in CA and loved to visit SD. I don't have any rental suggestions (we always stayed in hotels) but if you need info on SD, let me know.

We LOVED it there - so beautiful and goregous weather almost year-round.

I loved SD too! DH and I visited 4 years ago, and we thought the zoo was amazing!! We have talked about moving there for the past year, but the job offer wasn't as good as the cost of living. It's one place that I'd like to take the kids. Have a great trip!
