Illuminations invite? It is for Aug 22 for a special Mom's Panel gathering to watch Illuminations. I got the invite this afternoon. It's for our arrival day but we weren't planning on going to a park tht day. Well I added a day to our tickets (a whopping $9.58) and we are going! Any other Canadians got the invite and are planning to go?

We got the e-mail today as well. We went last year, it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. So disappointed that we will miss it this year. Oh well, maybe next year.

Wish we were going to be there then. Had to RSVP that we were unable to go.
Haven't been to a Mickey Mom's Panel Illuminations party, but have attended an Illuminations dessert party before.
Ours was a relatively small group and we were given the UK area (beside Harry Ramsden's).
It was REALLY nice not having to scout out a viewing spot for Illuminations.

I got the invite last night and just saw it this morning.

I tried to RSVP this morning at 9am because we are going to be there on the date and it was already full!!

Sheesh, less than 15 hours after the invite went out.

I having been doing some heavy duty time on the dis boards lately. The email came around 5pm and I opened it at 5:40 and rsvp'd within minutes. I had my confirmation email at 5:45pm. I can't believe it filled up so quickly. So sorry...

I sent an email to see if there is a wait list because I can imagine they have a number of no-shows and I suppose it can't hurt.

I got the invite, but we're not going until December this year. We were fortunate enough to go last year on our arrival day, and it was wonderful! Enjoy!

Got the invite for this year. We are not planning a trip this year for the first time in 3 years and it feels strange. We were there last year and met people from the Canadian Disboards. It was fun having a speacial spot and they gave us some trinket gifts with Disney Mom on them. We were grouped for the Illuminations behind the stores that are straight ahead of you when you are walking to World showcase. We met first in a building just beyond Canada I believe it was where we were given name tags, lots of drinks and snack food. Was quite dark inside.

How do I get onto this Mom's panel list?

I got on the list when I submitted an application last year to be on the Mom's Panel on the Disney World website. The winners have a 1 year position on the board giving advice and infomration to questions that are submitted by the public on the board. I think it is coming up pretty soon to submit new applications for 2011. I'm sure someone here has better advice as to when the applications will be accepted. The competition involves a number of rounds and the first round involved submitting an essay, and that is where many moms (and dads!) don't make it onto the next round

I've read that the apllications will be out in early Sept. It'll be announced, no doubt, on these boards as well! That's how I heard about them!
