Used to do this half the week at Maya Grill but now they've done away with their buffet we need to find some alternatives.

ADR date on Monday and we are going to try and do cp on our first day before MK opening, Late breakfast Tuesday at Akershus, Boma on our 'free' day Wednesday, CMC on the thursday, no breakfast planned on Friday (following our hopeful trip to MNSSHP) and Saturday will have to be at MG/Pepper Market as it is our going home day. Stuck for a meal on the MOnday, we usually do a 7am MG and then head over to AK for EMH. We would like to have done Boma but it appears that their first time is 7.30am which would rule out an 8am start at AK for us.

Any ideas?

may want to go the online reservation system and play around. Type in a 7:00 AM (or 6:30 AM) time slot. The system should give you alternatives that might help you identify other locations.

If you have a car for, the Sand Trap at Osprey Ridge golf course opens at 6:30 am.

I'm not a big fan of sand for breakfast... ;)

We've never had any ADR earlier than 7:30 am, sorry. (Nor would I want to be up much earlier than that, lol. Only three reasons to be up that early: WDW, golf tee time, and well... one other...:rolleyes1

I was playing around with early bfast and found Fresh at Swan/Dolphin at 6:30am!
Who's awake at 6:30am? :lmao:
But I don't think they do buffet on bfast tho. Sorry.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I thought that Ohanas first reservation was 7.30am but 7am would be perfect for us as we love it there. On DXDP so looking for onsite and never even thought about just putting the time in and having a go - doh!!

As for being up at that time don't forget we'll be jetlagged. Day one we'll be lucky if we make it past 4am and day two will be about 5.30am if the last four trips are anything to go buy - thanks again for all the help.

Wouldn't all the resort restaurants particularly the convention hotels be open early for breakfast?

For the convention hotels some people have to get up early to get ready for early 8:00 meetings. :scared1:

Also at the resorts people would want to eat early to get to a park for EMH.

Yes you would think so but most of the buffet restaurants (exception seems to be Chef Mickeys) seem to almost always open at 7.30am which doesn't give us time to eat and then get to a park for 8am emh. This is why we used to eat breakfast for about half our trip at the Maya Grill when staying at CSR. We like a huge breakfast and it was a really good buffet but now it is gone just trying to juggle four people with different food tastes. :)

Only got to wait until Monday to try for my ADRS so guess I'll soon know!

Maybe it's just me, but I still think you'd be pushing it to make it to the AK gate by 8am if you had a ressie at, say, 'Ohana's or Chef Mickey's at 7am. Plus, with those being character meals, you'd certainly want to visit with all the characters in order to feel you'd had the whole experience.

I don't know what your transportation situation is like, but if you'll have to wait for a bus to AK from whichever hotel you choose to eat at, I would think that there would be no way you could make it to AK at time for the early entry opening (or, at the very least, you'd be at the whim of the Disney transportation system which sometimes can be hit or miss). If you'll have your own car, it may be doable, but I still think it would be hard to get to the gate by 8am. If you want to be there by 8:30, it may be doable.

You are wanting the early ADR for Monday before MK right? I would for sure do Chef Mickeys- I JUST got a 7:05am ADR there.

We are staying at POR, and I plan to just take a taxi straight to the Contempory since it will be faster.

How about Tusker House? Get the first ressie, arrive early so you're seated right off and it won't be crowded so service can be quick and you're already deep in AK as the rope drops. Would that work?

Thanks for all the tips, we have booked now, couldn't get anywhere we really wanted for the day so are going to Maya Grill at 7am and then hoping Picnic in the Park will be offered and will get one to eat early!
