Any Boston Airtrain Flyers?

Do any expert Boston Airtran flyers know if they tend to cancel that 11:20 nonstop to MCO? I want to buy that flight for October when it comes out, but I don't know if they will end of cancelling. Any opinions from those familiar with Airtran's Boston schedule in the fall? Thanks!

"Tend to"? No. While it's always possible an airline will cancel any flight, passengers should remember that a specific plane needs to be at a specific location to pick up new passengers and transport them somewhere. There aren't back-up planes parked at airports around the country to pick up the slack from a cancelled flight.

You could look for that particular flight daily over the next couple/few weeks, to see if it operates every day or on a pattern - or not at all/rarely.

I don't fly out of Boston but I understand what you're asking about with Air Trans reputation for flight changes. Air Tran does tend to open their schedules with a lot of flights then they change times / routes & cancel a lot as time goes. I fly out of BWI and I have found their early morning ones stay put (usually about 7:10 or so) and I think their next morning one stays put (like 9:00ish). For the afternoon returns I find the 1:00 & 3:00ish ones stick most of the time... Beyond that I am not sure. But if they offer an earlier direct flight and if there's any way for you to go earlier I think you'd be safer. But that's just my guess on it. The earlier the safer for sticking. Hopefully someone else with Boston experience will reply.

I was unable to book the nonstop out of Boston in November - due to the fact that I waited for SW prices to come out. By that time the flight was sold out. I wouldn't hesitate to book Air Tran again. We had a great experience with them.

Everytime I book on Air Tran I tend to get bounced around to a different schedule. Since they have VERY limited direct flights to MCO now, I've been using JetBlue exclusively. They have more options for direct flights if your original gets cancelled.
