Any big to-dos the first week of Feb?

Hi there all! I am trying to plan my parents first alone trip in the World for the special rate at the beginnning of next year. They haven't been since 1992!! Does anybody know if any big things, like conventions or what not are happening the first week of Feb? Thanks for your help!!

I know there's a Cheerleading competition around 2/3. I'm sure someone can confirm.

We went the first week in February in 2003 and loved it. The crowds during the week are non-existant. The weekends got more crowded. The weather was shorts during day and jacket and pants for night. The cheerleaders were there but they were mainly in MGM and busy with their competition. We saw them in MK on the weekend but not during the week. We thought it was a great time to go

We were at WDW this year from late January until Superbowl Sunday which was Feb. 6. Crowds picked up, especially our last Sunday due to the following factors:

Superbowl Sunday, the game was in Jacksonville, I don't know maybe that had something to do with it.

Cheerleading competition. Tons of young girls and their moms, all very nice but lots of them that last weekend, especially at MK and MGM.

Mardi Gras. I have no idea when Mardi Gras is in 2006 but the LA schools have that time off and many of them head to WDW. Although with the hurricanes who knows what the LA school districts will do this year.

It was a great time to go, chilly weather, especially in the evenings but so nice. Shorter hours too but with the generally lower crowds, you don't need too long hours to get it all done.

Does anyone know what chearleading competition it is, so that I can look up dates for 2006. Thanks for all your help!
