OK, since we went to Kansas City a few months ago- I CRAVE BBQ! I LOVE BBQ baked beans, Pulled pork, brisket, ribs...and all the fixins that go with it. CRAVE CRAVE CRAVE it.

I found two GREAT recipes for baked beans and I motified them to suit our likes and dislikes, I will share them later if anyone cares to have them. I also have a REALLY GOOD cheesey corn casserole bake, pulled pork recipe...

BUT, I am looking for some more recipes. I'd like to do more on the grill, now that it's summer and we use the grill 4-5 times a week, someweeks it's more. I hardly use my stove top and RARELY use my oven in the summer.

I am looking for a few new tips, techniques or recipes to try with my family.

We have great recipes for BBQ chicken, BBQ pork chops and stuff like that, but I'm always open to new suggestions...

I'm talking about BBQ, not 'everything anyone can cook on a grill'...REAL BBQ.

Could you share your recipe for cheesy corn casserole please? Sounds good.

Yep, you need some kind of smoker for real BBQ. The saying i "low and slow". Low heat for a very long time. Some bbq is actually cooked for 24 hours. That is the good stuff.

Yeah, we have a small smoker. It has worked really well for our pulled pork- we'll season a roast and cook it low and slow...using wood chips for more flavor. I have also used our charcoal grill as a smoker too (we don't use our charcoal grill since we'd gotten a new gas grill and so we've 'transformed it' a bit and use it as a great method to smoke meats and beans). A friend who does BBQ competitions taught us how to do that. But he won't share any of his recipes, because he does competitions. I've been very pleased with the level of taste and BBQ we've used and they are quite similar in techniques.

My only problem is that I don't have many recipes- just chicken and pulled pork. While those are good, I'm wanting more.

We have a smoker that just sits in the shed. I would LOVE some tips on pulled pork or whatever any of you smoke. Please! It's sad that it just sits. I know that you should put spices on the meat but I don't even know where to begin. Anyone want to help an ignorant meat smoker?

Funny you posted this. I made bbq pulled pork sandwiches in the slow cooker on Sun. for the very first time. I cooked it in rootbeer, and it was delicious. My whole family enjoyed it, including the picky eaters.

Want to share the recipe?? Sounds so different that it has to be good!:thumbsup2

This is a great easy BBQ recipe I tried a few weeks ago. I served it on hamburger buns with homemade slaw, and the whole family, including my picky 8 year old DS.
