We are thinking about going to Busch Gardens and Williamsburg Easter weekend. Any thought on a hotel that would be within walking distance of The Old Country? Has anyone ever stayed at Kingsmill On The James? Amtrak station to Old Country advice? Any other thoughts you might have? Thank you so much

you really can;t walk from Kingsmill to Busch Gardens... Technically you can but 60 is a 4 lane highway and I wouldn't try it. It is about a 5 minute dr to the BG gate (if its the one I am thinking of). The resort should have a shuttle service to the park. The train station is located of of 60 as well about 10-15 minutes away. It should be easy to navigate. I posted a Buy one adult ticket and get a free ticket to BG on this site as well. If you are planning on doing Colonial Williamsburg as well.. Take a look at the bounce ticket.. it's good for like 7 days or something for any of the three (BG, Water Country USA and Colonial Williamsburg online price $108 a ticket). Just do the math to see what works better.

Ditto on what got2sammies; there aren't any hotels within walking distance of BG.

We stayed at a villa at Kingsmill and really enjoyed it. There were good restaurants at the resort (ate dinner there), but we liked having breakfast in our villa. Shuttles are run regularly to the Colonial Williamsburg but you have to drive to Busch Gardens.

I like Kingsmill because it is a wonderful haven. There are often packages available, but it's not a place where you will find rock bottom prices.

I know Kingsmill is not cheap, I juist want something that provides shuttle service. Thanks again

You can call Kingsmill and ask, but I doubt they have a shuttle. Kingsmill and BG historically haven't had the best relationship. I doubt anyone visiting would ever know (i.e. don't not stay there if that's where you're considering; I'm sure they'll treat you amazing), but locals who have followed the stories throughout the years do.

As others have said, if you're going to be here a while, you should look into the bounce ticket. I grew up on BG, and the first time I went to Disney I was in for a surprise (I was expecting just a slightly larger BG, lol!) :faint:

I stayed there in October and I went to BG by shuttle.
