We will be staying at the ASMo for the first time this coming November. Does anyone have any advice, tips, etc. about rooms, transportation, food courts, ect??? When do I need to make any special requests??

bumping for you. I have never stayed at the All Stars but maybe someone else can answer your questions. Enjoy your vacation!

I think at AS it would be hard to go wrong. The whole resort is nicely laid out.
I make my preferences known when I book. Sometimes I also fax them in about three days beforehand. But the one time I didn't do this, everything went great and I don't think not faxing made a difference.
There isn't much to know really. Fantasia is the preferred buildings. So either you paid the extra $10 a night for that building or you didn't.
Check in can be long, depending on the line. The CM's really take their time answering guests questions and giving written info. (Not to mean the CM's are slow. They just get asked A LOT of questions and don't rush guests.) So be prepared to be patient on that area. By long, I mean at least 1/2 hour. Anything under that you are doing pretty good.
Depending on your length of stay and how much you will be drink certain beverages on site, while you are waiting at check-in, send someone from your group to the food court to buy/fill your refillable mugs.
From our experience, AS CM's are the best. :)
Depending on where your room is, you may even be closer to the bus and food area to ASMU. Don't be afraid to explore the other AS resorts. They are pretty much the same.

We've stayed at the All Star Movies twice now, and we'll be back in October!!! Its a great hotel!!! My daughter loves it!!! I think the All Stars have some of the best bus transportation on site. We very rarely shared a bus with the other All Stars, and we always had direct service back to the hotel!

Our first stay, I had requested Toy Story, but we got Love Bug. We loved our room - it was so quiet and a short walk to the food court/bus stop! Our second stay, we requested and got 101 Dalmations! Again, we loved our room - very quiet and a short walk to the food court/bus stop! The hotel is nicely laid out and its not a far walk to anything.

My youngest DD loved playing by Andy's room, and by the large TV at the 101 Dalmations bldg.

The food court was pretty good - we even had pizza delivered to the room one night! The gift shop was great, the girls had a good time spending their money! Check in was really easy for us - the CMs were very nice.

Our first stay, we checked in around 10:00 AM - the room was not ready so we headed off to Epcot. We didn't get back til very late and our luggage was already waiting for us in the room!

Enjoy your stay!!!!

Thanks Luv! I didn't realize that the other food courts were just as close to the Movies. I guess it doesn't really matter where we stay it looks like we'll be close to the food court anyway!

And Magic - that pizza delivery sure sounds great! We spend most of our days and evenings in the parks and are pretty pooped when we get back to the room. If someone would bring me my dinner instead of me having to go out and get it - that would be great!

Hi! We were at ASMo last week and had a wonderful stay. We had talked about staying at a mod instead, but decided the kids would probably like ASMo better and I know we made the right decision.

I made my room requests when I made the reservation and that was all. I requested Toy Story, non smoking, 1st floor. We ended up with everything except we were on the third floor, which turned out to be fine. Our boys, especially the little one, are Toy Story fanatics so it was great to be right there. Every single time we walked by the big RC car, which was severeal times a day, both boys would get excited, run to it, and climb on it. The also loved the huge blocks with BUZZ on them.

One thing we discovered part way through our trip is a short cut to the bus stop from our building. Instead of going through the main building, we went around the edge of the resort and it was a lot closer.

As far as the food courts go, we ate there a lot during our trip. We bought 2 mugs and shared and definately got our money's worth out of them. There is hot chocolate on the beverage island that is incredible! It was my nightly snack. Also, definately try the cheese quesadillas, philly cheesesteak, and meatball sub. Yummy!

Another thing that is fun for kids, if you have any, is the water playground by the Love Bug building. the boys liked it even better than the pool.

Thats all I can think of right now, but if you have any questions, just ask!

Hipporina - Thanks for all of your comments. I do have a couple of questions though. What is a 'water playground'? We do have 2 dd (7 & 8) and I was just curious about that.

Also, that's a great tip about the bus stop. I never thought about not going through the front of the lobby to get to the bus stop.

Both girls LOVE Toy Story, so I know that we would love that building. Did you face the courtyard with Andy's room or were you on the backside?

It sounds like you had a great trip. We have stayed at both moderates and deluxes before and decided it was the girls' turn to pick a spot and ASMo is what they picked. I hope we have as great a time as your family seemed to have.

We definitely plan on buying the mugs because we certainly use them! The hot chocolate tip is great though. I love to drink it and November may be a good time for a warm drink when we get back to the room.

Thanks for your help!
