We are going to Disney World Jan 18th-27th! We are traveling with a 6 year old (she will be turning 6 during our vacation) and a baby that will be 6 months old. My question is ...................
What am I going to do with the baby during meals? She is not sitting up yet to sit in a highchair and I know most places will not allow the stroller. I do not plan on bringing the infant car seat/carrier to the parks because she is uncomfortable and hot in it. I will have a sling for when she needs a break from the stroller. I don't want to hold her through every meal, so any advice would be helpful! Also any other advice you can offer for traveling with a 6 month old will be helpful! I plan on running to Walmart for formula, diapers, wipes, baby food and possibly a booster seat for my 6 year old. We are flying but renting a car after we get there. I don't feel like lugging her booster seat with us ~ and to rent it, the cost is $10.00 a day, I'll just buy one for like $20.00 and leave it there. Does this sound like a good idea?

Last year we took our DD6mo, DS4 and DS 7, so we've been where you are going.
For your baby, at the table service restaurants they have infant high chairs available and at the counter service places you can bring the stroller in with you.
For your DD6, we packed the booster seats in a large bag ( hockey gear bag to be exact) and checked them as luggage. It was a fairly painless way to bring them along and not have to pay the outrageous rental prices.

We took our twins to WDW when they were 7 months old and we actually did take our double stroller to our table in sit-down restaurants. I should say the only times we went to a sit-down restaurant were when our babies were sleeping in the stroller. I can recall eating in Italy with no problem and Portobello Yacht Club with no problem. We stayed at AKL, and we ate at Boma several times with no problem. I don't recall eating at any other sit-downs during that trip. Those 3 sit-down restaurants are large and we went to WDW at a slow time, so I'm sure that's why they were able to accommodate us. So don't rule out being able to take your stroller to your table, especially with a baby of that age. Good luck and have lots of fun!
:)

I've never had a problem taking the stroller into resturants when my kids were that age. :-)

Thanks for all of the good info~
Dumbo- you said some of the resturants have infant highchairs- What do you mean by infant highchairs? Are the different then the regular brown wooden one's that you usually see in resturants? Are they good for non-sitters?

We just got back, travelling with an 8 week old, and were graciously allowed (and accomodated) to bring our stroller in to: Teppon-Edo, Kona, Le Cellier, LTT. At Crystal Palace they said no strollers allowed but they did have the special infant seat high chair for us. You should be fine, just ask them when you check in at the podium.

I was just having this conversation today about my little guy. He'll be six months as well on our trip and the whole highchair thing was starting to worry me.....thanks for your question!

yes, they are different than the brown wooden ones. Picture one of the brown ones and put and infant carseat on top and that's what they look like. They have a five pt seat belt and everything. It would be fine for a non sitter. We used one for my DD when we wen't to Chef Mickey's
