Any 6 person options for DVC?

True. And one could suggest that if you want the luxury of space, you should follow your own advice and just rent a house off site. You’d save money and get even more space. ;)
If space was all I wanted. But I like being right on the property. Plus I already live in a house in Florida.

It is a cycle though. Those 2 kids in the pullout or other BR will likely be gone the last 30 years of the contract, sad as it is to think about.

Then you can sit up and talk about what you would give to have them back sleeping in that now empty area.
Our son doesn't join us much any more since he's in grad school. But he's only a few hours away from Orlando in Miami, so he might still join us for a night or two occasionally.

Yep exactly my point, over the duration of owning many family sizes change.

Room “choice” is also season dependent. For those who travel in low point season sitting on a 100 point contract it’s easy to say, well just get a 1/2 bd!

I had to borrow points to add to our 270 BCV 2018 pts in order to get a 2 bd for 6 nights in March! Once I retire it’ll be studios all the way and in low pt season I can get several weeks for our 470 pts instead of under two. & BCV’s point chart is much lower than many newer resorts...

Yep agreed, its very rare somebody can say "I will need exactly 175 points for the duration of ownership".

Or even "afford" how many a member wants to purchase.

Family size changes, guests, time of year, size of accomodations all can affect how we fill rooms.

As for the OP, I still contend DVC doesn't cater to the "exact" of amount of guests everybody needs for every room on every trip.

Otherwise they would need to offer a room for just 2, or just 3 as well, not just 6.

We bought as empty nesters with my aging mother in mind. Grand children came, we added on. We have always tried to give everyone who needed one their own bed, and we are reluctant to have people on pull outs. They have to agree beforehand. We have booked studios for couples rather than use living area. It’s just how we have enjoyed our DVC.

Hang on, did you call Poly studios spacious? Did they change them? they must have.
They are. They are some of the largest studios in DVC. Are you confusing with BLT, the smallest? Poly is big....just no storage.

Square feet:
Poly 447
OKW 390
BLT 339 (smallest after AKV value at 316...oh and now CCV at 338)
SSR 355
BWV 359
HHI 455 (biggest)

But maybe compared to regular WDW hotel rooms, all of these DVC studios are??? Can't recall how big POR was when we stayed. We did just stay at CSR and it seemed larger than the DVC studios. (Nope, just checked and those 2 hotels are 314 SF rooms)

That 447 includes the 2 baths, the hall way and the balcony, so you don't really have all the space in the 'living' area.

That likely goes for all of them. I know we have had 4 in BWV, SSR, OKW and Poly studios and BWV and SSR felt way tighter. DH and I stayed in BLT studio and that was like a cruise ship cabin...eeekkk. But loved the layout. Loved that Poly layout too.

We stayed in Moorea back in 1997 on our first trip long before it was converted to DVC villas. The room was pretty spacious, but the bathroom was kind of small and narrow. So they tripled the bathroom space (and added the kitchenette) and really reduced the living space.

ok, it's the second bathroom! no kitchen or even really wet bar to speak of, tiny sink, tiny tiny tiny storage, I mean and the beds are awful! maybe 2 people would be ok a couple days??? but it's super noisey, and I hope you don't mind the ferry whistle, every 15 min or so, from about 9am until 1am on party or extra magic nights. rofl. well, it's the easiest transport to magic kingdom, ROFL. DVC should be ashamed of themselves on this one. they took a old hotel wing built in the 70"s??? and changed them into tiny sleeping rooms with two pretty nice bathrooms. I don't spend enough time in my bathroom at disney to need 2 bathrooms in a studio. maybe it's just us? but If I had bought here I'd have had a FIT and a half. the bungalows are cute as long as you don't have small kids with you. and we think they are way to many points for what, a view of the castle, and a cottage over a mosquito petri dish? I know I will get blasted for this, and the POLY has some of the best dining in the parks, but years ago we stayed one night at pop music, or movies... it was like that with bigger bathroom and cleaner. certainly NOT a dvc worthy villa.

Yeah. I agree with all of this. It was the noisiest room we've stayed in (next noisiest was BLT). The 2 bathrooms space is wasted and I wish they put a washer/dryer in there at least. But having the split bathroom was great with DH, twin DDs-18 and I. Sharing 1 bathroom is a nightmare with 2 teen/college DDs. And we don't use the kitchens in the DVC rooms except for cold drinks and coffee, so we didn't mind the small kitchenette but they are small and would stink for folks doing more than drinks in the kitchen. I do love the kitchenette in BLT studios but use it more for vanity area. But love how it kinda blocks the front door from the sleeping area. BLT's noise comes from the outside balcony area. Whereas Poly's noise was from every direction (hallway and balcony as well as above and below). And we decided that if we did Poly again, which we likely won't, that we'd do 2 connecting studios for the 4 of us. But we decided that if 3-5 of us we get a 1BR, at least (5 of us I like AKV, OKW or BLT 1BRs, but if I know for certain that all 5 are going I book a 2BR). And will only do studios for 2 of us from now on. DH and I will be in a CCV studio this Friday night. I see they are small like BLT. Hmmm. Will post back on here my thoughts (we are also doing Reunion Station so I can post about that too).

Agree on most of this, but I will say having POLY drop in our laps as an existing DVC member as an option (also GF) is amazing. Esp a couples retreat.

We had stayed at POLY a couple times but it was like $600 a night (and the ferry whistle was then as well).

Love the option to walk over to the EPCOT monorail.

Now its like $200 a night in dues (close to Value pricing), for a new, bigger 2 bath room there? Crazy good IMO.

DVC can be ashamed all they want-we love the option.

And which studios are you comparing PVB to that it becomes the smallest?

I'm almost positive that PVB still has the largest living area for studios and am not certain what gave you the perception it's so tiny but it is not. As far as I can recall it's the only one they put nightstands on each side of the bed. Leaving OKW out of the equation which can't compare to others, but probably still isn't any more spacious than PVB and might actually be less room in the living area, it's large. It didn't have to get the murphy bed/dining table combo - it has enough room for both. And pictures show more walking room between the bed and the open murphy beds at PVB than any of the older resorts they were added to. By a foot or so. The kitchenette has the same bar sink (although it's an under counter mount) and very similar counter space - the older resorts have a little more, about a toaster width more but the newest - Kidani and VGF are about the same.

I can't disagree on the potential noise for noise but that varies on where you are and agree it's pretty bad they used 30+ yo buildings for the shells but that also is probably what meant such large studios as less square footage on new builds was more the norm for DVC. It does not have the standard dressers but that also is what has happened to the other DVC's with the murphy bed. PVB does have the 2 under bed draws, and the place under the bed to store suitcases which clothes can be kept in. A relatively standard closet and then the drawers in each bathroom which we utilize as dresser drawers - it's far more than any toiletries require and I think it was part of the storage plan.

Don’t forget that the coffee table top opens up for a huge amount of storage, also. We love the space and layout of PVB.

We have taken two trips with six people. Me and DH, two young kids and my parents. The two bedroom is perfect. First time we stayed at BLT, second time BCV. We all fit in the bedrooms so we could put the kids to bed and still use the living space. The extra third bathroom at BLT is great.

Those people who cram are able to go twice as of often as you. So they may actually be thanking you for leaving more rooms throughout the year for them! ;)

We cram so much we even use our Starwood points to cram into a hotel room near Epcot, saving our BLT/VGF points to stay at MK. If you think the DVC studios are small, try a hotel room with queen size beds, no balcony, and a double stroller for 4!

We bought DVC for the luxury of having space. If you want to cram people into a room, just rent a house offsite or get a value room at Pop or All Stars. You'll save money to be able to go even more.

We bought DVC to stay once a year in 1BR, mostly, but so far are using DVC and SPG to stay 6x in 2 years in a combination of studios, hotel rooms, 1br and 2br. I find that I am a bit of a points miser, and we'd rather have more nights in slightly smaller accommodations, generally. (We will try out a BLT studio for a long weekend when it's only DH and me.

Our next trip will be 5 people in a 2br. While we could technically fit in a BLT 1br, I would never make my 82yo MIL sleep on a pullout our sleeper chair. My 77yo dad, however, would probably be fine in the sleeper chair with our kids on the pullout. (But I'd still think more than twice about actually doing that.) Our last time in a BLT 2br we had 6 adults, 1 child and 2 babies. It worked but it was nice that the babies and child were in the bedrooms, so the adults had the LR to hang out in after the kids had gone to sleep.

Nice, and the "2nd" BR really is just a studio for your parents-hence the "wasting" 2 spots like any couple renting a studio.

I'm guessing your parents like the privacy of the studio and its bath, not "wishing" 2 more people were in there with them.

It falls right in line with the OP's concern, only from another angle.

Obviously 2 bdroom is an option, but it still 'wastes' 2 people (up to 8).

Well a studio with a couple wastes 2 people as well.

thx. Why not just go for a 2 bdroom then? I am surprised theres no option for the typical 2A+2K+2G (grandparents) 6 person family
We did that option... Got a 2BR at BLT. Grandparents in the king size bed room and the 4 of us in the other bed room with the 2 queen beds. Worked fabulously!
