On a good day.

I just went into my bedroom to shut my blinds and what to my wondering eyes should appear.......well I can tell you it wasn't 8 tiny reindeer and a fat man. It was the biggest, ugliest, scariest looking spider hanging right outside my window. I don't like spiders. As a matter of fact you could even say I have a BIG phobia about them. So guess who killed the spider? My poor 82 year old mother. Yep, drug her butt right out there to spray that sucker (used a whole can of bug spray) and took a broom to the web. She's a brave woman, let me tell you! ::yes:: It wouldn't be me making that thing mad. I've heard they get even.

Tevagirl, You dragged your 82 year old mom out back to take care of the spider? I can picture it now ~ your mom armed with a can of Raid and a broom to protect her daughter from the spider.

I can relate ~ we had a big spider (well, maybe he was only the size of a half-dollar) on the curtains once. I scooped it into a trashcan, and flipped the trashcan upside down onto the carpet. It stayed there (and I watched the trashcan to make sure the spider didn't escape) for about 3 or 4 hours until my husband came home and took care of it.

I can hardly wait until we all get our docs next week. I can't believe that September is half over already. I hope the first two weeks of October go by fairly quickly. So does my hubby ~ he will be glad when I stop buying things for the cruise. :-)

1000 kids !!! Where are all those people that would NEVER take their kids out of school ??? Are their parents like me, who had one question...."which week is the very cheapest ?" Four weeks from today and we will be enroute to Florida...I have yet to make transportation reservations...Yahoo has been acting up...and I am starting to wonder if I need a new outfit. I need to buy black dress shoes too. I need to run off those Bushwacker coupons, need to switch to late dining for certain sure, and sense that I will be needing some sessions at the tanning booth. For some stupid reason we're having autumn type weather...come on, we're in Sacramento...it is 100 degrees from late April til mid Oct, then some rain, fog, and 55 degrees...but since I need a tan we have possible showers expected on Sunday. Is the wine party Monday ? I am bringing my favorite...DH likes it too. This is a man who NEVER drinks at home, but you put him on a ship where the drinks are $6 apiece and he wants to try them all.

We're flying Southwest...probably all end up sitting with strangers...once on a transatlantic flight my best friend and I sat next to this man that had a very smelly fungus on his hands...this Orlando thing can't be as bad as that.

Good going with the spider Tevagirl...at least your mom had bug spray...I've gone after them with Windex because that is what I had...it works if you spray enough to drown them.

How could I have forgotten...Tiggerfantoo's trash can story brought it back. I don't let anyone wear shoes in my house, so our everyday shoes are usually on the front porch. One day when DS was about 18 months old I decided to go somewhere, so opened the front door and tried to put my shoe on...I felt a big lump but because I'm stupid and stubborn I tried to force the issue...the shoe would not go on, I kicked it into the air and a snake slithered out...DS and I slammed the screen and stared at the empty front porch till DH got home. I was certain the snake would come in and attack if I didn't keep a vigilant eye out.

What would we do without our hubbies - our "men in shining armor"? It's great to look back and laugh at these things now, but it sure was scary at the time.

Our flight arrive at MCO on Saturday at 10:26 am. We are taking the disney transfers to the port. Will I be there early enough to get flounders spots, palo reservations (hoping for 2) and spa appointments 2 for me and two for DH.?
I always get freaked out the closer a trip gets and this one was really last minute for me (decided 5 weeks out)

Debbie ~ To find out what a Bushwacker is click here Paradise Point Tramway then scroll down to the yellow text box and click on "Tasty Frozen Drinks".

Happy Saturday!

Thought I posted on this thread yesterday but I can't find it.
YIKES wonder where my post ended up!

Denine- Since we booked with DVC do the docs come after everyone elses?

Has anything been set up to meet anywhere?

My husband is leaving on Tuesday for Germany. He will get home the day before we leave for our Disney vacation/cruise. We are going to have to stay in Denver the day before we fly since we have to leave at 6:30. That leaves him on night to unpack from Germany and pack for a 3 week Disney vacation. Hope I can get everything done!

Barb :teeth:

Is everyone getting ready to do the document dance next week? I bet this thread will become very active once we start getting the documents.

Zandy595, I bet your kitty is happy if you have taken down the plywood that was covering his/her windows. Will your son have to make up days at school on Saturdays due to school being closed during the hurricanes, or will they just extend the school year?

Mickey02 - It sounds like your DH will be ready for a Disney vacation after spending a month away from you and your family. I hope that you and your DH have a very relaxing vacation.

Julebobo, 1000 kids on the ship? I agree ~ bring on the bushwackers.

Greetings :wave2: ,

Just killing some time. We are going over to julebobo's house in about 45 minutes and Bob (bob-o) is going to make us some delicious Lava Flows :drinking1 And let me tell you...they are yummy! My DH has to work tonight so he won't be having any. That's a shame. Oh well, I'll have his too. :teeth:

We had a free screening for prostate cancer today at work so I had to go in. We saw 66 men and their prostates. (Only kidding about their prostates!) Last year we saw 100 but this year it happened to fall on the same day as the Fireman's convention (there's 50,000 firemen in the neighboring town right now) and I think that's why our numbers were down. Doesn't matter, I'm still tired.

I can't wait for our docs to come. I like to just stare at them.

Talk to you later,

Denise

We took our hurricane shutters off the windows when we got back home on the Monday (9/6) after Frances hit. Tigger was VERY happy to have her window back. :D

No, DS won't have to go to school on Saturdays. They're going to use teacher work days and some holiday time to make up days. I was hoping they'd extend the school year, but they want to stay on track with marking periods and scheduled report card dates. St. Lucie County (just north of us) still hasn't opened their schools yet.

Barb- We alson booked with DVC points and were wondering the same thing. I will let you know if and when we get them.

Does any one know if the list of whos cruising was posted?

Does anyone know if we can register our children in the kid's programs prior to boarding? Probably not since I believe they give you a pager or something in case of a problem.

Patty

Hi Patty:

You cannot register the kids before you board. However, last year, I registered the kids around 12:30pm and let them look around the club. You can't drop the kids off until later that evening. It is only when you drop your kids off that they give you a pager. I believe the first night, the kids club doesn't open until after the Bon Voyage party....6 or 7 pm. Don't quote me on times. The memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Hope that helps.

Is it really and truly a fact there will be so many kids? Maybe that will increase our chances of getting ressies at Palo's!!
