anual passholder/dining question

does anyone know if you can get your passholder rate and purchase the dining plan. WE are booked with a rack rate currently hoping for free dining but were wondering about paying for dining with an ap room rate.

Dining plan is only available with a package, but we have found it is still worth it for us to just buy a one day MYW ticket, then use the AP, and save the extra ticket for renewal.

Sorry, no. You'll have to pay for the rack rate room to get the dining plan on a Disney package. Unless you have AAA.

An AP room only rate does not translate to a package booking. The dining plan can be booked only on a room/tickets package, except for DVC members. It can't be added to a room only booking.

As noted, if a package discount is released, an AP holder can book the package with a 1 day base ticket. The ticket never expires and can be used toward the renewal of the AP, or toward the purchase of a new ticket.

I have never seen an AP package discount, but since AP holders don't have to purchase tickets, they couldn't specifically offer them a package. The only way to reserve the dining plan without purchasing any form of ticket is to stay at a DVC resort on points.

Thanks for your awnsers, I think I already heard that, but needed to be refreshed. We did book a package from disney with a one day ticket hoping for dining. We also have AAA so I am currently holding two reservations waiting for the best deal. I have both because I am afraid when they annouce dining I may miss it through one source .So...hopfully when (yes I am being optimistic) it is offered I will get it through someone. Because we also have a home in Fla. I can sometimes get good resident deals. Thank goodness I am lucky enough to have so many options.
