In Prep for our October trip to FW we packed the family up for a weekend trip. I was up half the night getting bit by ants. I live in Fl so I am well aware of the little buggers but I dont think these were fire ants. For one thing they didnt swarm and attack like crazy after the first couple bit and mostly they have not raised any little pus blisters. Actually my bites sites are almost gone already. My brother living in Ohio asked if we put tent in an ant bed. My reply? "yes, we pitched the tent on the ground in Fl, it is one giant ant mobile ant bed'
Any way, my question for any experienced tent campers ( havent done it since I was a kid) is there a child safe way to keep ants out of our tent. We had no food stored in there, they were all over but no place special IYKWIM. I hae heard that cinnamon around the perimeter or talc powder with do it.
