This is a long shot, but does anyone know of any shop (at WDW or elsewhere) that might have for sale a limited edition wooden Mickey sculpture, around 8"-10" inches high by an artist called Henri? My father-in-law loves wooden sculptures by "Henri," who sculpted various subjects including Disney. My FIL finds these sculptures sometimes in antique shops. He once purchased a Minnie statue around 8"-10" and he believes there was a matching Mickey sculpture of similar vintage. I have done some internet searching and haven't found one online. We are going to WDW in May and I told my FIL I would ask whether there may perhaps be an antique shop of some sort on the Disney property where something like this might be found. Again, I think this is a long shot, but let me know if anyone has any ideas! Thanks!

There is not an antique shop on property. That would be a great idea though. There used to be so many great Disney collectibles, you could find a lot of them when they used to have the Disneyana Convention ever year. Now I would guess that eBay is your best bet on finding it.

I agree that Ebay is probably your best bet.

Your post made me remember a wooden Mickey statue I saw at WDW a long time ago--probably the 80s or 90s. This thing was huge--maybe 3 ft. tall or a little bigger. I think it was priced around $800 at the time, they probably didn't sell a lot of them. It was beautiful!

You don't see many high end items like that at the parks any more. Now it's mostly "what can we make for cheap, and sell at a premium?" (Vinylmation I'm looking at you!)

Good luck finding the Henri!:earsboy:

As others have mentioned there is no antique shop on property but the good news is that the the wood carving company behind those Disney sculptures is Anri (pronounced Henri) and there are several Mickey Mouse sculptures available for sale via the internet. They can get a bit pricey ($500-$1500) but it would be a great investment as there were very few sculpted.

If you are going to Orlando you should stop at theme park connection or maybe give them a call and see if they have any.

Wow, thanks guys! I guess it would help with my internet searching if I spelled "Anri" correctly! This is great. I'll also try Theme Park Connection. Thank you.
