if y'all can stand it ;)

when you're waiting to go to the MK, do you have to commit to the boat or the bus or can you see if a boat is coming in while waiting for the bus (or vice versa). basically can you ditch the boat if the bus shows up while you're waiting (or again vice versa)

we've already decided to drive to the other resorts. :earboy2:

you have to commit - it is a good 5 minute walk between the two

dang - i fear commitment :rotfl2:

did you find one more reliable than the other?

I think we will go the bus route to MK and the boat back home to the WL.

The boat is very relaxing but I am anything but relaxed as I am heading to the MK for the first time on a vacation! ;)

What do you think?

one morning I walked outside and the bus was there - that was the only time that happened - the other morning I waited at least 20 minutes and there were other people who had been there before me waiting

the guy working at the bus stop (groundskeeper) told me the boat was WAY more reliable b/c it goes to the MK. FW and WL and back - nothing unexpected - during peak hours they have 4 boats running - I would allow at least 1/2 hour to get to the park - as close as WL is to MK - I was frustrated by how long it took to get there!!!

buses are out front while boats are out the back. We had to wait for every boat and bus we took at the end of July/beginning of August.

Does the bus drop you off where all the other resort busses drop off? We'll take the boat over, but after Wishes, the wait for the boats are a little extreme. :cool1:

The bus drops off in the same area as all the other busses. We felt the bus to MK was quicker only because it was a direct 5 minute ride once you got picked up. We seemed to wait the same amount of time for a bus or boat to pick us up at the WL. The boat ride seemed longer.

:cool1:

The boat ride from WL to MK takes 10 minutes or less. Before 3:00 pm the boat goes from WL to MK to FW to WL after 3:00 it goes the opposite WL to FW to MK to WL.

I read about the availability of buses on this board. However when we we were there in July and again in August, there was only a boat to the MK, no bus.
I inquired about it and they said they only have a bus during inclement weather. Since we took the boat during a raging thunderstorm, i don't know what their definition of inclement weather is.

We find taking the bus much faster going there and back. And the bus is never crowded. My son didn't care for the boat. Same goes for Polynesian. He doesn't like taking the boat, he prefers the monorail. So we just take the bus at WL and monorail at Polynesian.

I went in July and found the bus to be much faster than the boat. The boat was fun for the ride, but when I wanted to get to MK fast, i took the bus every time. I ended up taking the boat only 3 times all week. The bus numerous times

I read that they added bus service to the MK from WL this summer.
It must have been after your visit. Definitely much faster.

I seem to be the minority but we used the bost exclusively to the MK and it worked fine for us, however my parents did have one bad 1 hr trip with our kids while we were checking out DVC.
